Hey there, I've been playing around with MO for a few reasons, they were always going to be my next focus after Varuna, I have wanted to up my expertise with them in general, there aren't many exprienced PanOceanian commanders who know them well and (obviously) we had the update to look forward to. There were a few list archetypes which I'd been playing with, including the following: 1: Tik and Friends 2: Joan and Friends 3: Hospital Pass 4: Order Focus These seemed interesting enough in their "updated MO" incarnation to justify sharing for discussion. (0 | 3) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army This is obviously a combat focused list, with very light specialist support. What it has in spades is hitting power, between the Tik and the Sepulchre it has a solid 1-2 punch which will be difficult for opponents to soak. There's also a pretty strong ARO firebase, which offers a safe hiding place for the Knight Commander as well. Gosh but I like that 13pt Crosier loadout. Obvious weaknesses include the lack of midfield strength, some vulnerability to hacking, and a total focus on combat capability over specialist units. Some of this can be mitigated and the rest you'd need to play around (or have another list to respond differently). I'm also not the biggest fan of running the Machinist as a more active piece, and although I do like the option for the Haris I'd seriously consider ditching that part of what I'm using here and instead going with a PalBot supported rear echilon piece. I've actually been trying to work on lists including a core of KoJ spitfire and KoJ hacker with 3 teutons (one being tinbot profile ) it doesn't absolutely break the bank and can make for a fantastic aro link in a pinch while being absolutely brutal on the advance . The only issue is depending on table might still want an hmg to get out of deployment zone
The KoJ Spitfire is nice, but the Santi Spit brings those sweet, sweet E/M grenades. Not as tough though.
Don't get me wrong I love santiago spitfire , specially lt profile with 0 sec spitfire . But arm 5 and bts 9 covered by a tinbot go a long way to make hacker lives difficult and that's my main concern midfield hackers and repeater nets

(0 | 8) 5.5 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Things I've liked: - Teutons are amazing, and I think I'll be grabbing harris everytime I build a roster. - KoJ with ML is a good ARO, as not every faction luckily brings a mim-3/-6 piece to deal with ARO - Trinitarian with MSR, quite okeish backup gun, or if enemy lacks visors, backup ARO for your units. - versatility of switching between two attack pieces with NCO Things I didn't like: - KotHS with holoecho, core link, harris and mulebots take enourmous amount of space in your deployment. - no hacking in this roster. Shitty enemy toolbox REM behind a building with a hacker chilling on some roof was a source of frustration - KotHS seems like a mandatory pick (either him or Tik) - correct me if I'm wrong, but you need to be careful with how you place holoechos, so if someone blasting them with impact template, real KotHS will get hit if placed too close. - harris should be moved to G1 - Knight Commander seems a bit off, really expensive for those points, even despite providing extra order that can be used by NCOs. in nearest future think gonna try something like this, if mission doesn't require a lot of specialists. ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 KNIGHT COMMANDER (Lieutenant [+1 Order]) Combi Rifle, Light Shotgun / Pistol, Shock CC Weapon. Overall I think list building for MO got better, but there are still big issues that need to be addressed.
Interesting ideas there, it's good to see how other people are thinking. In terms of "Joan and Friends" I've always been more fond of a Magister assault style build over the Crusader Core. Not that the latter can't be good, it's just not very interesting. (0 | 3) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army What I really like here is that it is very different from what most opponents are going to expect from any PanOceanian list, so it should be good for at least some "shock value". It's also leveraging the ability to pull out more order efficiency from Impetuous and Joan co-ordinated orders as much as possible. With Dart in the Midfield to do hunter-killer work and clear the way it feels at least a bit less vulnerable to being pinned down by hacking or other kinds of midfield dominance, and if you have a lot of mines or other deployables that's what the Fugazi is for! (or the PalBot for that matter) Obvously this is another more aggressive and offensive list, solid for combat oriented, attrition or sector dominance matches but weaker for anything calling for heavier specialist investment. But, once again, you'd manage that with good list pairing. What do you think about this style of list in the new MO? How are you building yours?
When considering "Hospital Pass" style lists I've had two different approaches. One was to go all in on the Knights in the Core (which does raise the question of the value of Joan, and there's a discussion to be had about how she might improve the first list I'll post) and the other was to go for a slightly lower cost option with better support. It's basically taking the HI Core and pushing it as far as it goes in MO in terms of peak quality. If your opponent isn't ready for it this can be brutal, smashing through anything but the very best of ARO bunkers and crushing everything else it can get to. It feels like a list where I should be going all in on the core conceit, and that's where this option simply doesn't feel like it meets the mark. This is my absolute meme shock and awe list. Two possible five mans multiple possible haris, a possible duo. Nothing but beefy hate. I doubt it's going to win any tournaments due to lack of appropriate support but it has punch options , you can open up with hospitallers and close in with santiago + teuton. In aro you can begin with teuton 5 man for panzerfausts lanes and hospitaller haris. And At 5 specialists you can actually push some buttons if you are so inclined
I am a bit disappointed I do not see people experiment with all the tools that were given in this update and push more on more variable lists, lists with no knights or a couple of knights, lists challenging midfield list with max AVA Trinitarians, for example I am waiting and so far nobody ahs toyed with the idea you have FD8" knight hospitalers and FD4" KoJ and Haris, or utilizing the knight commander not as an NCO fodder but as a decoy LT option.
I mean making lists with no Knights you might as well go play a different sectorials . It's like playing IA but deciding you want to field nothing but LI and remotes ?
These are all neat ideas that I considered, but it's just not something the sectorial can pull of well without shooting itself in the foot. Every PanO list, at least for me needs to cover the basics first because they solve most problems. These include a large enough order pull, midfield presence, specialists and a powerful HMG platform. In MO this means a Tik and an engineer, a HRL linked Black Friar. Adding a Lt is also a must, mostly it's going to be the Teuton, as I think the KC is just an awful unit. The space I'm left with after this does not allow for a lot of variation.
The lists here are mostly experimenting with the new toys and not considering scenarios. The compromise of a 5 round event will force the players who can make it to top tables to tailor to scenarios in a more practical way and that's where the rubber meets the road. What you see here are hypothetical all comers lists that aren't considering what they will be playing other than the factions they think they are likely to face. These forums in general tend towards Group Think as best practices. This is for you @psychoticstorm; I remade a style of list I ran at the beginning of N3 and had a lot of success with. I don't think it has quite the same punch in N4. Ideally it would have a decoy Joan, but CB didn't see fit to produce a CoC profile (or anything but Lt.) for the Knight Commander. This list would be decent for some scoring scenarios, but I'm not presenting it as a top tier list because it's not one. Just something fun to play with a few elements that could be carried into a list with a bit more hitting power. Paying 24 points for a WIP 13 Holomask Lieutenant is a REALLY hard sell when factions like O-12 or Haqqislam are paying 15 for WIP 14 ones. If CB wants people to play those profiles then they should make them not horrendously overcosted.

While the midfield isn't strong, you don't need to make much of a gap for the Tikbalang to exploit and that's what you are going to be leaning into here offensively. Between the Pathfinder to sweep, Dart to hunt and the Fugazi or PalBots to clear ordinance you won't be long breaking through. The biggest issue with this is quite simple... why not another Sectorial? The MO Tik is great, and this is probably one of the strongest ways to field it, but is that one key unit sufficient to justify deliberately setting aside other options? And why this approach to running the Tik rather than one which also draws on Knights? ... I'm not a MO player, but I was fiddling around with the armybuilder lately and came up with this list, the main idea here is to have good fireteam flexibility, with a mainly ARO focused crosier core, and a choice between going for a teuton+santiago haris, coordinated ordering joan with 3 panzerfaust shots from teutons, or just making a core out of teutons, sergeant and santiago and have 5 dice HI spitfire go brrrp when crosiers and black friar core inevitably bites the dust, it's a shame that black friar FTO isn't able to be a part of any haris teams so the sixth sense is kinda wasted skill, so maybe just cramming in an HRL sergeant and a baggage REM instead is a better choice, but MSV2 ARO from a full core fireteam is still a good thing to have in a list, hope someone will actually test how this list works. I have been looking at the new box and thinking about how to build lists around it. I have a bunch of old MO models (including a TOFO Order Sergeant I did an arm swap on, which will be my Trinitarian). This list is only one group of 10 orders but you get 2 extra orders with the NCO and the impetuous order from the Teuton. You can duo the Santiago and the KoJ. I feel like it covers a lot of bases and is relatively flexible? Also use the Infirmarer as the KCs holomask, they are almost the same points!
