The trailer includes a Voronin quote about bringing more armour, plus Bostria pretty much confirmed a Code One TAG box for Ariadn.
I didn't get that 100% but Bostria said something along those lines "The Team Polaris will not be the TAG release for Ariadna, that is something different."
Is that confirmed? Naw, that would be fine. Everyone and their mom can get the "limited preorder bonus" stuff nowadays, even separately sometimes, because of the pandemic and how reseller stores handle this stuff. Getting the TAG in a year+, maybe, would suck wild parrot balls. Three Ratniks in a trenchcoat, on top of one another, with Blackjacks as arms, with Hvy Shotgun Devil Dogs strapped to them.
With almost nothing to go by, I think it's possible that the TAGs for this game be a modular system - several weapon options/arms, visually distinct stuff for Mimetism and whatever else they may have as gear in the game itself. Also the reason why I'm suggesting that if it's got an Infinity tie-in, a TAG spec ops would make sense in that regard. Base stats more controlled than with light infantry spec ops and options that can be visually seen on the miniatures. "Build your own TAG" Can also see how similar to Battletech they might "zoom out" to make the scale in TagRaid be larger than if the same miniatures are used in Infinity
Unless they have some kind of Ariadna MetalGear, I think I'll pass this KS. Everything seems to be getting released ahead of Kickstarter anyway.
I was under the impression the Iguana was pretty modern, Lizard is also in greater need of the resculpt.
both the iguana and lizard could use a resculpt and new pilots the szalamandra needs a new pilot as well
It will be Infinity scale. Defiance was their way of using (abusing) Kickstarter to renovate the Shasvastii range with 0 financial risk, this will be the same but for whatever TAGs they want to resculpt/release It's the CMoN model: release games nobody cares about with lots of minis limited to Kickstarter to get those sweet dollars/euros out of guys fearing missing out, then forget those games even exist.
I think that's the main thing I'd like, some alt layouts for TAG's, maybe a resculpt and a few new ones, but also some pilots tied to the TAG's instead of the pilots always being another product. Hell, that could be one of the big changes, a pilot system for TAG's. All Anaconda's are not the same anymore sort of deal. Like Battletech has Mechwarrior cards now. It might also provide a balance system for the different power levels also. And of course, if it's a big box with TAG style terrain and some larger scale things, that'd also work very well. Main problem really will be pricing.
That name doesn't gel with me. Really narrows the market to infinity fans only. What normie is gonna want to play something called "TAG raid"
The Shasvastii range they'd already renovated with Operation: Wildfire months before the Defiance Kickstarter even launched?
Riiight. Remember those Taigha Creatures released around Wildfire? Me neither. Besides there were O-12 and a bunch of characters (some of them were waiting for a resculpt for 5+ years). Do you think they were all done before Defiance KS as well?
You mean the ones they already had renders before the Kickstarter launched? (Excepting the last 3) I find it wild people need to look for a nefarious motivation behind Defiance other than "We want to do an Infinity dungeon crawler with awesome miniatures."
This is the most sensate opinion, I think. If it's infinity compatible, then we will for sure see alternate sculpts for the models. If it is not, then we won't. It's really that simple. CB has never hidden a model behind an impossible FOMO wall and they won't start doing it now. At least that much I think we can trust them.
I assumed that "scale" refers to the size of the engagement (ie squads of TAGs fighting instead of tiny spec-ops groups). It would be awesome if this turned into a way to get alternative or better yet, customizable TAG sets! I'd love an overdron with all 3 weapon options! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
How are 10 minis a range? Also I suppose you know having renders is a lot cheaper than actually producing the models?
