The SWC represents also how accessible the profile is for the army. Very rare lieutenants can have 1 or 2 SWC tax on them and easy available weaponries have a lesser SWC cost. As for the Red Fury SWC cost, the Knight of Montesa Red Fury is also 1.5 SWC.
Maybe since N4, but I often see it modified by the presence of other rules more than faction. I.e. NCO or LT tends to increase the SWC cost of a TAG. Marker states (such as the cutter Multi-HMG) also apply. This is the only case I can think of where a TAG gun is costed differently between factions, on almost identical units. Multi-HMG for instance is 1.5 unless you are an LT, marker state, or NCO. I guess the biggest issue is it feels strange as their is a lot of logic and consistency with SWC weapons that when I do see an anomaly (an HRMC costing 2 SWC on a model that does not have NCO) it becomes annoying. The Montesa also has mimetism and moves faster. Only reason I can think of for the kiel-saan is the additional wound when he loses his symbiot armor. And counter point a more similar unit, the knight sepulcher, has a +1 damage AP HMG at 1 SWC. I am not saying that 1.5 SWC red fries do not exist (though they are rare) I am saying on similar units (such as task masters) it costs less or there are objectively better guns (bronzes) which still pay less.
Let me actually expand on "annoying" from my previous post. Literally posted and the words came to me. It feels like a tax. But not a tax like I have to take ma1 on a light infantry man, a tax I could avoid or I at least get something out if. But a tax that I get for playing a specific faction. A tax I get for liking a certain model. A tax I get nothing for. A tax that three other models, two of which are almost identical to my own don't pay, and in one case shoots better than my own model. Heck the zeta can cost 2 SWC but we see exactly what it gets for it. That is the source of the annoyance.
Tohaa has quite a bit of SWC weirdness, between the Clipsos Sniper costing a full 1 SWC instead of 0.5 as on similar models, the Kiel-Saan, Kaeltar paying 0.5 for Chain of Command (?)... I don't think I've ever seen the Clipsos Sniper taken, the Kiel-Saan is fun but you only upgrade to the RF if you happen to have a spare 1.5 SWC after building your list, and the Kaeltar just ends up being a "You must be this tall to play Tohaa" SWC tax.
SWC taxes have been in the game allways, but seems to me that in this edition they have reduced them. They sometimes are there because combinations of skills/equipment, and the unit type also has impact on it. Sometimes they are there to represent the "not so usual" of that profile. And sometimes they might be for balance issues. That doesn't mean there is a problem in the army

Load list A, edit it, and rename it to B. Save it to Server. Answer "no" when asked if I want to overwrite the list. Now I correctly have two lists, A and B, saved. 3. Load list B and edit it. Save it to Server. Answer "yes" to overwrite (I am making changes to list B so I want to overwrite my previous list B). Bug: Instead of overwriting list B, the save overwrites list A. So I lose A, and now have two list Bs saved.
Army: Combined Army Troop: Oznat with synced Preta Browser used & Operative System: Chrome on a PC Description of the bug: The Preta that is synced with the Oznat does not have climbing plus as all other Hungries do. I hope this isnt intentional...
Don't know if that's been pointed up yet. On my courtesy lists, the suryat HRL doesn't have the MSV1. But on the regular list it does show when i print it.
