Man I didn't compare the KC to Daoying, that is really sad.... Less secure, more vulnerable for more points (not to mention Daoying actually has some variation in profiles).
Its not far off it. You can really roll around the heavy hitters now and there are enough little gems in the support (like EM mine Crossiers) to really help expand the MO support toolbox. Im particularly happy the "LI link" is no longer just bog standard combi OS. Because that was always a tax for a ML. Now its got support kit that can be flexed if required for clutch plays/plan wrecking
Something I was personally tinkering with: https://infinitytheuniverse.com/arm...AAB4BBQAAHgECAAIEACYBAQAAhfcBBAAAJgECAAATAQEA
Yup, Ill pay 2 pts in a list for my line infantry to be capable of threatening TAGs. For those curious as to why thats a great piece of kit in N4, consider what is coming at you, and how little it gives a damn about Ap/shock mines...
Personally, I kind of wish the Crosier had Minelayer, so I could have one of those E/M Mines already down. However, that is a tiny quibble on a great troop.
Id kill for them to have minelayer EM mines. But Im not going to cry too much that they dont. Because that would be filth
I am quite happy in the flexibility of the new MO, for example while knight heavy lists are possible, this is also possible. Zw9taWxpdGFyeS1vcmRlcnMAgSwCAQoAhhkBAQAAhhgBAgAAhhgBAQAAgwMBAwAAGAEFAACF9wEBAACF9wEEAAAmAQEAAA8BBwAADgEBAAIFABsBAwAAEwEBAACF9wEDAAARAQEAACYBAgA=
Exactly. We got something beautiful. It would be like complaining that the color of a brand new VXR8 Bathurst wasn't the exact shade of red we wanted to complain about that.
Would love some input on a first draft generic MO list to use as a baseline and adapt for missions. The core link is a basic ARO bunker that can hide the LT, heal the KoJ and brings the Blitzen/EM mines with the last two points. I quite like the setup on this team and feel it hits the bases I want it to hit. The Teuton Haris would do most of the attacking, being cheap and tough and having no 1 wound filler. Love that it can fight and score and that firewall is nice for non-stealth knights. Not necessarily the 'best' configuration so open to alternatives. I opted for the NCO Spitfire over the better but not NCO Santiago Spitfire because I prioritize a maximized order pool and prefer to not have to put the LT orders into the Sepulchre only. Sepulchre is a one man wrecking crew with a huge gun that fills the sweeper role without a link, EVO or TAG, and the Trinitarian is your mandatory concession to efficient button tapping. Warcor has been making a comeback in my meta and my lists especially for the more elite armies that can access him - still as annoying as ever.
what if something like this: https://infinitytheuniverse.com/arm...GGAEBAAIFAIRqAQIAABMBAQAAJgEBAAAmAQEAADIBAgA= Zw9taWxpdGFyeS1vcmRlcnMBIIEsAgEKAIYZAQIAABgBBQAAhhgBBQAAgwMBAwAAHgEGAAAeAQUAAh4BAgAAHQEEAASGGAEEAACGGAEBAAIFAIRqAQIAABMBAQAAJgEBAAAmAQEAADIBAgA= There are downgrades, but reasoning is: - sure, ML KoJ is sturdy, but after he/she goes down, link is pretty useless. maybe LI with Spitfire can be used for T2/T3 action if needed - order sgt hacker can be either placed in core, or into a harris, depending on what kind of opponent you're facing, if they have midfield repeaters, or hackers. - Dart to deal with hackers or placed repeaters that you can't reach - Depending on the enemy, order sgt can either go to Crosier link or Teuton Harris
Overall a nice idea of a list, with fairly clear intent and coherent theme! There are several questionable points, though: - Teutonic Knight SMG Specialist feels redundant since Santiago can cover the 0-16 range better than him and is Specialist as well, you could use those 2 points somewhere else (another Crosier with Blitzen, perhaps?) - Weak midfield control, due to not having mines, just one clutch Trinitarian that will have to do all kinds of things, honestly, not just button tapping, since no one else in the list can stack modifiers just as well as him. Having Dart, more Trinitarians, Bulleteer, even Mendoza would potentially help the issue - Very straightforward ARO game, with no surprises like HD Trinitarian MSR, which enables the opponent to plan around it easily. Linked Teuton Panzerfaust helps the situation slightly. - Lack of midfield healing means both Teuton Haris and KotHS are going down for good as soon as they get unlucky or something tracks them down in your reactive turn. - Very straightforward attacking pieces, topping BS 13 without mods on B5 Spitfire and BS14(+Surprise Attack) on B4 AP HMG, again without vis mods. Kamau Sniper and generally any kind of good Mimetic ARO may be quite a problem to solve. - No specialised enemy DZ clearance, like fast attack troops, drop troops, or heavy infiltrators like Mendoza or Dart. We are hoping to shoot everything we can see from afar and then get Teutons into Close Quarters with extra orders provided by the KC. This means we can't abuse the potentially weak back rank of the opponent and clear out the cheerleaders/lieutenants without bursting through AROs first. AP HMG KotHS generally wants to stay in our half of the table and is too expensive to throw him away in a single Rambo run. It doesn't mean the list won't work - actually, it may work wonders occasionally. But it's admittedly bland and very predictable on the table. Very Pano "force-on-force" list, if you'd like :) I'd recommend taking Black Friar HRL and springing her up as an active turn shooter, with BS16 B3 HRL she may get rid of all those Kamaus, Ninjas, Proxies Mk2., etc. with ease, unlike other pieces that would be shooting those on 11s or 8s. Spare points and orders in group 2 can be used for a Trauma Doc + Palbot to heal your meaty midfield HI back up. I personally love attack bots, but in this context, Montesa Red Fury could be quite a good way to do the enemy DZ sweeping after your Black Friar / KotHS have cleared the AROs, while not investing too many points into a single attack run. Montesa Paramedic could be a great fast specialist synergizing with your HI in the midfield as well as a disposable attack piece, too.
