And she's good on her own as well. That Sixth Sense and MSV2 is keeping her from getting Surprise Attacked, ever. That MULTI pistol will be excellent for taking care of Impersonators trying to get close to her or others, and the rest of the combo makes her a highly effective counter-battery piece.
I can honestly say for the first time in 10 years I want higher Ava teutons . Ava 3 just not enough to get the drug fix they bring
Can i Dodge as standalone? I mean, i dodge with my second short? Further question, for the Koths, why is he seen as a good camo/token remover? I read somewhere up here in this discussion
You can Move+Dodge, and if you pass you get an extra 3" KotHS has Holoechos which can be used to trigger mines and Perimeter weapons safely.
I'm just happy for the flexibility. Also looking forward to Mendoza's Molotov Cocktails wreaking havoc.
I will note as well that this starter is, imo, one of the most playable released so far. I can see taking most of them in many lists at the same time. Banner lady and MSV2 spitfire LI guys are the sore points, especially since I would (for once) have enjoyed a 3rd combi croziers to hide the Knight commander. Who btw will be often included and not often used as a model, but that's good game design in the first place
I think the update of military orders is excellent. It’s true that one can always ask for more, but let's look at the context, I saw few armies that have received such improvement in N4. Now there are many ways to play MO, they have gained more midfield control ( I made a list with 5 camos, haha!). You can play with more IPs in core or haris and easily reach 14 or 15 orders. The fusion of the Teutons with magisters collected the best of both profiles plus the discount of points. The KoHS is brutal (as they have already pointed out), Mendoza is solid option and stimulates a “half-table game”, with trinitarians, pacemaker, dart, etc ... and the new lieutenant will be a great help. oooH and don’t forget the excellent Santiago with airbone deployment I'm very happy for the sectorial, Is only my first look but is a very good job CB.
Overall, its a solid set of improvements and I’m excited to play with them! I think I got myself a little too excited for the “what ifs” surrounding a potential rework of order sergeants. I was imagining something slightly more elite or specialized on the order sergeant half of the split. Ultimately though, this is more a case of letting my imagination get a few steps out ahead of reality. From a vanilla perspective (I know, thats not what we’re talking about in many ways—but this does exist in relation to that faction): Im very happy about Mendoza (more because he’ll be fun than because I see myself taking him a lot), the KotHS (paying an extra .5 SWC doesn't phase me), and the HRL Black Friar is awesome (sixth sense works nicely there, and she’s super affordable). Im a bit annoyed by the Knight Commander being completely absent from vanilla. Saving the LT +1 for MO makes sense, but this is a great example of a profile that wouldn't have shaken much up for vanilla (due to the cost and the presence of other better options), but that would have helped to provide a wider variety of options to the faction (aren't options what vanilla is all about?). I’m also bummed to be yawning at the crusader... still. Teutons however, are a very pleasant surprise. I loved magisters in Vanilla and I will love these guys even more. That specialist profile is exceptional. All in all, I think I let my imagination get the best of me with this update, but the update taken on its own merits is very strong and more positives than negatives.
