Ah, the way people were saying things, it sounded like this was an actual published profile. That’s certainly a plausible story (stuff like that happens all the time at tons of places), but without substantiation, I’ll take it with a grain of salt.
I’m pretty sure it was more that when N3 was released and the profile dropped the blitzen, the model had already been in the pipeline for some time. I get the impression that models are designed at least 6 months if not a year or two before they are released.
Timeskip. Armor tech has advanced sphere-wide, and mostly the firearms have caught up too leading to the same in-game ARM values as before. But... puny mini-panzers ain't got shit any more, so their new panzerfaust equivalent is still pretty bulky in order to get the same impact.
Kamau sniper with the same shoulder bit came out in 2018, 3 or so years after the new Aquila (pretty sure he came out pretty soon after Icestorm, but correct me if I'm wrong). Here's hoping they (eventually) resculpt all three (and the Uhlan) without that shoulder bit, if they don't want to use that as the design for PanO panzerfausts. Anywho, climbing off of my tiny little soapbox, on a positive note I'm looking forward to what changed between the Teutons becoming not!Magisters.
I think that piece is rumored to be part of the msv setup. The spitfire has the same thing. I’m talking about the other piece, that looks like two barrels for launching munitions.
Both bits were on the knights with panzerfausts. And man, PanO MSVs are friggin huge; YJ can fit them no problem on Hsiens, but PanO needs a big blocky piece of tech for the same thing? Bleh.
Huh. I forgot that they were on the old magisters. Either way, while it’s not a terrible design element, it is disappointing from the execution of technology perspective. While I get that the shoulder mounted weapons aren’t as recognizable from across the table, miniaturization is actually a cool sci-if thing to see executed.
Oh yeah, the idea behind it is similar, but in the context of high tech PanO Boyg being a sub par choice makes the fact that it's S5 jarring. We know PanO can put more better stuff into a smaller, stronger package. This isn't the case for Omega, it is as survivable as a light tag, mobile and shoots really well. So, the increase of size into S5 does at least make sense from the standpoint of fluff. And I honestly do want to see a PanO version of the Omega for MO - it's what they need in terms of gameplay.
Across the table atek Panzerfaust looks the same as a missile launcher, so I don't think that particularly makes it clearer.
From Army just now: I'm glad its keeping the holoprojector, and the COC MULTI MMrifle profile is a nice surprise.
Is the Padre ok? it looks like he needs some psychological help. CC attack and BS attack (Continuous Damage) without Frenzy suggest that this guy has some issues...
So... Sergeants and Crossier coexist... and after seeing the profiles and the loadouts... WHY the Crossier even exist? It was necesary to create that troop? We could live with the standards Sergeants...
