Because they’re easy for your Atek opponents to recognize.

Can't believe I'm agreeing with JCJF, but here we go.

When we agree on anything, you know it's good, or bad.

    Like, objectively.

Only truth can result from such rarity.

If I had to guess, they probably found that little shoulder gizmos did not scan well from across the table, and it wasn’t apparent to people which models have panzerfausts.

That being said, I liked the PanO and MAF panzerfaust design and don’t like seeing it changed to be lower tech.

eh, who cares. this new teuton design is cooler imho - i like how the chest armor rises up to cover the neck/lower face

IIRC what was mentioned above, while a nice idea, the first design was non identifiable on the tabletop.

It's possible these ones are simply cheaper to build and obtain, make logistics easier given these are presumably used by the main PanO military (as well as others), and there's maybe other fluff justifications could be made. Like maybe the smaller more compact ones had some kind of flaw or drawback on top of any logistics or cost issues. But in real terms it's pretty obvious that they're just too tricky to ID on a table.

I do note none of the other PZF users in the PanO army actually have them on models or in dossiers at this time though.

Besides, just because it's not as high-tech or flashy, doesn't mean it's worse. Especially in a disposable launcher. It's a reusable, but look at the way the US Army and Marines have begun fielding more Carl Gustav recoilless rifles: They're relatively cheap, reliable and have a wide array of ammo types that are proven. The fact the actual design is over seventy years old doesn't change the fact it does the job wanted of it. And look at how the M72 LAW became preferred over AT4s because the more expensive and heavier one simply didn't give enough advantage against the kind of targets you see in counterinsurgency. Irony is of course PanO has gone to the larger and heavier one here, but hey.

I do hope they don't lose their CRs and Spitfires as they absorb the Magisters though.

Is there something wrong? They look good. Magisters with berserk/tuetons as cheap link fillers sounds awesome. Their role previously seemed to be stepping on the toes of other profiles.

In the lore the high tech factional version of Panzerfausts were something similar to Iron Man's anti tank missiles.

Obviously, very cool, strong aesthetic vibe for a high tech faction full of people in power armour. People liked it. Now it's basically been ret-conned and a cutting edge faction uses tech that looks like it's been stolen from some Ariadnan military surplus dump. People less happy about that image change.

Which would be a valid argument if CB's official policy wasn't to discontinue mini lines and actively encourage people to use older, much different looking minis, as contemporary loadouts such as Haramaki that don't even have sculpts that match Tankos in aesthetic or weapons. Or to encourage proxies because it takes literal years to release miniatures for units, such as Zondnautica or various Tunguska stuff.

Essentially we have sacrificed unique aesthetics for gameplay readability, except we haven't actually achieved that at all because of how CB does their release schedule and mass amount of proxy models.

Fair. I liked the shoulder mounted weapons too. The uhlan’s feuerbach is a personal favorite. It’s just that...this ship sailed almost five years ago.

Go and whisper "Uprising" in the Yu Jing forums. Time means nothing to a grudge.

Because after about 250 years of them being known to mankind the hypertech brightlights were eventually able to point them with the right end at the enemy, that has to be celebrated. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You assume that PanO for some reason is keeping the old assembly lines ?

What about environment, all those discarded tubes must have some impact on poor flora and fauna...
