Sure, but if so is it even important to mention one of her many deaths ?

Well, maybe that's the first time for her to die in the infinity lore? I know she dies a lot in our games, but I suspect that this is not something that common in the lore. And she has such charisma, that her death (even if it is on temporary) had some impact on all PanOceania.
Steel Phallanx heroes are known to die quite often because of their recklessness, but maybe that's not the case for Joan. After all, Wallace is still alive and can't be resurrected.

It's also a good way to introduce new people to an important aspect of the lore. New releases with accompanying media campaigns like this one probably draw the most attention from new/potential customers. We all knew about Shasvastii being stealthy and Morats being brutal as well, but it's still mentioned explicitly to establish the setting for people who don't.

I mean, on real motocross helmets you tilt your dead down so the plastic visor blocks branches and twigs from hitting the open faceplate, but I can’t imagine the helmet worn by power-armored knights are susceptible to branches and twigs. Peaks are usually made of flexible plastic, after all.

I think almost all of them look cool. The Montesa looks weird with the helmet on top of his helmet. But the rest of him is pretty cool. Head swap opportunity I guess. I like the bike too. The doctor with a flag is a bit strange though. I don't care of some things don't make sense. It's always been more about the rule of cool than anything.

But I'm still irritated we haven't seen more than one Shang Ji in the year since White Banner has come out, and more for IA. And it's only the second one in the 12 years when they came out with the profile. The first Human Sphere book came out in 2009! I'd have no problem with that if it was an AVA1 guy but we are talking about Core fire team guy!

If it was Medium or Light infantry, it'd be easy to chalk it up to impact padding for the head vs ballistic protection from a normal helmet. As heavy though, they're probably pretty padded in that suit.
So I'd assume there's laws that say an impact resistant helmet is required for all motorcycles in the area and they forgot to have an exception for fully armored knights in heavy armor.

Or, when it comes down to it, it's the MO so the reason is "Pope said so".

I like the helmet on helmet knight. Its silly, true, but its also iconic.

I'd really like to have scenarios to play Joan's retrieving mission.

@Koni : Does CB plan to release a set of scenarios for this event, just like you did for the fall of Runenberg? If possible, asymetrical scenarios, so we can really replay the whole event.

I dont know, last stand against the EI, it could have resulted in her cube being disconnected and her backups purged for fear of infection.

Maybe Acontecimento is also inhabited by Ewoks. then flying tree trunks could be relatively common
A wire catcher would be definitely useful though.

Joan and other recreations have regular cubes, while it is possible for them to be infected (and probably have back ups elsewhere) they are at the same fate as regular humans, Aleph recreations have Cube 2.0 that is online and always active, Ironically this continuous immortality is what makes them suffer true death when faced with Sepsitor (except Diomedes I guess who gets backed up anyway before missions).

i think after the Montesa horse conversions we've seen, along with the desire for the model in general, there was always going to be a bit of disappointment. the dual helmets compound it, though having a bike box with both mounted and dismounted is nice, even if you're not as likely to do that at the table as you would with a zondnaut. but considering we got a Yuan Yuan biker for Christmas last year, maybe for 2021 we can get a horsey knight?

in the meantime, gotta snap up those remaining father knights for the head swaps, and turn them into hero models who can be with Joan when she falls at Strelsau

Well, of course, but we don't know the context. Maybe she got her cube retrieved before making her last stand, or maybe her team managed to carry her body back home. I don't know when we'll be able to read this story, but there is potential for something epic, if written properly.

If I remember well, there is something in the sepsitorisation that corrupts all copies everywhere. That's why any Aleph agent going against the CA has to cut its connection to Aleph. And if it goes MIA without being confirmed to be KIA and its cube destroyed, Aleph deletes every copy it has of this agent and tags it as "ennemy". That's exactly what happened to Perseus, even though he was lucky enough to have been taken prisonner by Morats and not the EI itself.
