845062E2-5826-4261-A93C-AFC2DBEC5D8D.jpeg Hey all. With the new MO stuff being revealed I am showing interest in them and even assembling the MO stuff from kaldstrom. I’m planning on using mosaic bases from micro art. What I don’t like though is the KoJ rock that she is standing on...for what I want to be the inside of a pristine cathedral.

Tile patterns on the floor aren’t square and have a lot of circles and blooming triangle patterns. So I’m unsure if plasticard would work for say a marble step or barrier.

Any thoughts of what I could use? I I added a picture of the base design for reference.

    Hugs and kisses!

The round parts could be used as outlines for steps of some sort. So on this peticular base you could build two steps in the (upper) left part of the depicted base. Depending on skill, patience and tools, it might be possible to replicate the pattern with plasticard.

You can try a slight conversion.

You could always go for an N2 style base extension like Scarface here is sporting!

Thanks for the replies! I do plan on making marble stairs with plasticard for some of the tactical rock poses. So one of my friends mentioned carpeted rugs on marble floor and thought maybe I can make it work. Found some red velvet with adhesive backing for jewelry boxes at a craft store and wrapped it around some plasticard. Overhang matches the model and I’ll DEFINITELY need to pin it lol. Think this could work?

So added the model to the base unglued. Kinda having doubts.

it might look a little uncanny having a painted mini on a painted base with this chunk of velvet fabric on there breaking up the highlights and shading.

Pinning and gluing the model to it might ruin the velvet if too much glue is used and squeezes out from under the feet.

working with this small chunk and I’m already seeing a ton of lint and dust being caught in it, making it look dirty.

I still want to try this concept, but don’t think the velvet would work as well as I thought lol.

in my opinion looks cool. to protect from dust and lint I guess you'll have to seal it later with varnish. hey, still looks better if you're against that rock she had.

I think I can make it work. Airbrushed some shadows onto it for depth and added some gold paint for some detailing.

Is there anything I can improve on to make it more integrated with the base and model?
