From where my head is at, the pose is straight out of a Yu-Gi-Oh battle (which fits a Hacker quite nicely) + the Sword "get ready to get stabby" thingy going on.
Here's a story for you: Once I had a KoTS tank through my whole USAriadna army and kill a Devil Dog, four grunts, one minuteman and one hardcase. All in CC. That would have been very appropriate. I am a bit on the fence about this new sculpt. Waiting for a profile now.
Just... Why? And how? And who cleared this concept for production? So they wear a helm and so it doesn't count as the mandatory helmet? If they told me to try and make a knight on a motorcycle uncool, I honestly couldn't, it's damn hard to do. But they did it. Oh boy they did it. I could go on... I like some of the new sculpts, but knights and clothing have had some unfortunate interactions in the past, and it seems that at this point it's like some sort of inherited condition that will go on in generations to come. Poses are nice, as always, but they're not fooling anyone at this point. Swords are for the picture, the moment you step within 20m of those, blade drops from their hands and you die in a hail of fullmetal gunfire. They call it the "Morat Castling".
Now you’re just making me picture a teenager in power armour with ADHD, distracted by the hand mounted iPad which he uses to play Hearthstone on, while answering “just a minute!” to the officer who’s instructing him to charge...
Yo I think I found our boy modeling for a marketing photoshoot (at least in his AR) Living the dream. Haters gonna hate.
I think that filling the inside of the helm and pretending it's a large glassy surface will fix it. Master Chief type look. Not particularly PanO, but definitely good looking.
There's been changes in the general aesthetics of some factions. Aleph's OSS line went from "steel cold perfect supermodels" to "chrome faced unsettling cyborgs". MO seems to be going through a transition as well, with orders and troopers acquiring distinct features and the faction going a bit more "pulp" with things like the standard bearer chick. I swear, if I she was stepping on a skull rather than tactical rock, I would've started getting suspicious. Not a fan of either of the cases.
Fortunately I have the excellent Kaldstrøm Infirmarerer so I doubt I'll need to use flag lady, she's the only model in the box I don't care for. Though I could always replace the flag with a pistol, hmmm.
I think i will only purchase the big box, but ignore the coadjutors and keep with the classic Order Sergeants
I wonder if we'll see the Escort Sarges separated and expanded like the Trinirinitarians, as a separate troop type to the linkable sarges/Crosiers.
I think this change mostly came from them painting a deva in chrome. The non remotes are still cold supermodels. Yadu because of there helmet give a different feel but who would go into a fight without a helmet on. The knight of montesa needs 1 big red eye and to be painted green, for spacenoid independence. The knight of the holy sepulchre looks like it is a small tag similar to the gekko.
That sir is an excellent joke which makes everyone who read it baffle why did they not come up with it first ;P
Man the other factions aren't even going to expect that colony drop. Going to paint the montesa blue and let people know it's no zaku
"Okay you can play nice and let your head explode... or I'll be coming over there and removing it myself!"
I would love to see the sepulcher work like an iguana. Silhouette 5 with 2 structure, then the knight pops out as a 2 wound HI with an AP spitfire. Better yet, instead of jumping out with smoke, it could do a berserk style charge.
