I'm extremely excited for this release. It's got me so amped up, that I want to re-paint my old MO models. They were the first miniatures I ever bought and painted.
I am firmly planting myself in "no hype till I see rules" territory. Been burned already and don't want to get my hopes up. deus vult
I don't want to have my hopes too high until I've seen the rules. The minis will most likely be interesting, but I have enough knights to proxy them if needed, if they even are worth being proxied. The KotHS with AP HMG is something along the lines I was wishing. But I really hope that he'll be a cheaper alternative to the auto-include Montesa Tik in order to deal with heavy units. But I hope the Montesa TIk will still be around. Wait and see
Any AP HMG with BS 14 works for MO, if it is not more than 60 points (because a Tik is just slightly more expensive). A Shang Ji with TactAware and an AP HMG is just bellow 50. With a bit of melee bloat I'm expecting this to be just over 50 and at that point it's difficult, even for CB to mess it up.
If he is a Boyg with CC 23 and MA2 with an AP HMG for 56 points, he'll be already interesting for me. BS14 B5 AP HMG is never bad. But maybe the new KoTHS will be more than that, we'll see.
1) Minis are already OOP 2) CB staff on a podcast (can't remember if it was Bostria or the not-Carlos) saying that Magisters will be going away/changing.
Personally I'm hoping the new KotHS will be something like the Kiel-Saan in Spiral Corps/Tohaa. Beefy Melee unit that can also shoot, but mostly as a means to overwhelm ARO defenses and get to chopping range. Less Metachemistry/NBW and more BS to fit PanO, of course, but something along those lines would be cool.
It would need mimetism of some sort to help it get there and achieve it. Even with all the possible help from meta chem the kiel saan is not well regarded
