I’ve been using the past year to get some hobby crunch going. After having had some great battles with Aleph - Achilles and the Marut were the models that got me out of GW and into Infinity. I’ve set my eyes on lo-tek Ariadnans, particularly the ruskies, as there is just something soothing about the idea of unleashing 6 antipodes and giggle girlishly in a thick russian accent. Much of the painting has already been done, mostly basing has been left till the end - and this thread is to get me to finish this project.
First up is my ‘Irmadinhos’ sporting a fashionable Urban camo, as they speed across the swamp - doesn’t make much sense, but it makes them stand out in fabulous style. Would you like to see more?
This little girl was a rush job for Mayacast’s Masterglass. I didn’t get a prize - but I got a nice model instead.
And just a family photo, now that I’m at it. Feel free to comment, ask questions, or whatever might pop into your head? :)
Really great choice of colours. I love the tone of the camo and clothes (especially on Duroc). I guess these transitions of colours are done with the acrylic inks. How does these inks work?
Thanks. Duroc was a blast to paint - such BIIIG details - If I remember correctly, his vest and paints were painted by doing a zenithal undercoat, then applying thinned layers of Burned Sienna ink by brush. Here’s a WIP : Later on I gave it a few squirts of Deep Violet ink for shading, and brushed some edge highlights and scratches.
Took a trip down memory lane and a detour around my Aleph to mount magnets in their bases. First up Mr. Hammertime!
After a long grueling session 90% of my Aleph (and 100% of the models I actually use) is now magnetized. It might have been hard work, but... man is it going to be easier to get out and play - once the plague has passed. No more foam And yes, my Apple forces are usually led by either Achilles or the Marut.
