I got my Infinity Defiance, so I was a bit busy putting all of the models together. I have gotten some more of my Shasvastii painted, though. I continued with painting in the same style, but I felt they still looked a bit flat. I could also see a lot of the brush strokes, too. When I got round to painting the Malignos I decided to try something different. I basecoated a dark brown and it helped create more contrast and get some smoother blends.
I have been a bit busy, but managed to get one more character done from Aristeia. Moonchild was fun to paint with a lot of nice details for the fact it is in plastic. I tried to keep the tones as earthy as I could. What do you think? I also made a YouTube vid going through my process with painting her: Painting Moonchild from Aristeia!
I took a little break from Aristeia and Shasvastii and took some time to paint the HVT for Haqqislam. It was a refreshing change of pace.
Here is Leo Gong for Aristeia! I tried to get vibrant red and greens for this guy. I think I achieved that, however, I feel the oranges need darker shadows in the recesses. I was pretty happy with the blue jeweling I attempted on the wings. The face on the plastic model is horrendous and it was difficult to define any of his features. Been a bit busy, but I did manage to get Qiang Gao painted. That is the first of the heroes finished. I was really pleased with the armours orange bronze. I wanted to make his armour grittier than the Aristeia Lei Gong armour. The face was very difficult and I wished I had not attached it until after painting instead of before. I should update with some of the painting I have been up to. I got Uma painted up. It was a quick paint job for this one, so the detailing isn’t great and I shamefully missed some mould lines. Also made a video about painting her: I then painted up the next hero from the Defiance crew, Jazz. I spent a bitmore time on her, but she was still a relatively quick paint session. Here is the video to accompany her: This then got me to Cadin. I entered a painting competition, so spent a bit more time on him. I wanted to try and get a high contrast skin tone, and I was quite pleased he came out looking like a character out of Street Fighter. I painted up Agnes from Infinity Defiance. Really happy with the face. Could have spent a little longer on the clothing, but I am pretty happy with the result. I also made a Time Lapse video of the painting process:
I got the Su Jian almost a year ago. It is one of my favourite Corvus Belli sculpts and it had been waiting and intimidating me. Finally decided to paint it up. Painted up some of my JSA last night. Pretty happy with the direction they are taking. I will soon have all my JSA painted (just have Yojimbo to go) and I can put them all together. Gonna try and make the 3D models for them to be used in TTS games as well.
Finished painting a Yu Jing Hacker. With this one, instead of a black undercoat I went with blue to see if it would boost the green and I think it came out pretty well.
Been a while since I have updated here. Corvus Belli were nice enough to send me the Endsong Exclusives and I managed to paint the Illuminatrix of the Observance and knock up a quick video as well.
