Active Camo Marker A activates, and declares Move to peek around a corner to see enemy Camo Marker B and an enemy Trooper. At this point, both Camo Marker B and Trooper declare "Hold" against Camo Marker A. Camo Marker A declares BS attack. At this point, what happens? Relevant portion of text here: Also relevant: Example on P.84 Fusilier vs. Camo Marker + Remote. Option A (consistent with above text box): Camo Marker A declares BS attack, and must allocate all Burst upon declaration of this Short Skill. Since the only valid target *at declaration* was Trooper, all Burst must be allocated to Trooper, and Camo Marker B which Held its ARO can fire back unopposed (Marker A cannot shoot B). Option B (consistent with p.84 example and above textbox but different set of short skills): Camo Marker A declares BS attack, and must allocate all Burst upon declaration of this Short Skill. Assuming Camo Marker A is using a Combi Rifle, a B3 weapon, he can allocate 2 dice to Trooper and 1 dice to Camo Marker B. If Camo Marker B declares ARO BS Attack, the roll will be FTF between these two; if not, the declaration is invalid and Camo Marker A's dice vs. B is cancelled. Something else?
Thanks for the reply. Can you cite the language describing why this is the case? I'm trying to reconcile the text under Camo which supports Option A with the example under Discover (example item 3B) which specifically has the fusilier allocating burst to a camo marker.
The example cited also included the Fusilier declaring Discover against the camo marker. That context is important because the example is about the rule right above it regarding Discover+BS Attack, which allows you to target a camo marker with both Skills in a single Order. It should be considered a specific exception to the general rule that you can’t declare attacks against camo markers. The rules language you’re looking for is in that red Important box: “A common combination in an Order is Discover + Attack. This tactical maneuver allows you to declare an Attack against a Camouflaged enemy, which cannot normally be done.”
