If you're comfortable with cutting metal, extremely easy. No green stuff, I just clipped both arms above the elbow and glued on the shotgun.
I think the new BSG looks great, but the old one has a certain charm to it. Makes a great heavy shotgun!
As someone who is not primarily a Yu Jing player I appreciate that the new boarding shotgun looks like a shotgun and less similar to the rifle, though I acknowledge the anachronistic design. I kind of wish they'd overhauled the PanO and Nomad BSGs at the same time.
It was particularly notable in N3 as he was the only trooper outside of puppetica shenanigans that could do a special fireteam in vanilla. It would have actually been pretty cool at the time too if it wasn't weighed down by that awful team pro requirement. I'd kill to pair him with a Blue Wolf, personally.
Finally got a game in today at the FLGS. Been a long time! I decided to try out Krit again for Aquisition. I really enjoyed him. My opponent was playing Vanilla PanO and used a Peacemaker in a building right in front of the tech coffin. Having Krit starting with a repeater was fantastic. I was able to start the game right off with hacking the Peacemaker. I got a bit too aggressive with Krit and Rambo'd him up and killed a few troops but was killed himself. I should have laid down some E/M mines to block the way to consoles and such. Still I was pretty happy with him and hope I learned from my mistakes. ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 1 KOKRAM (Forward Deployment [+8"], Minelayer) Heavy Shotgun, E/Mitter, E/M Mines ( | Deployable Repeater) / Heavy Pistol(+1B), CC Weapon. I think Krit's retooling for N4 (especially that amazingly cool FD profile) really shows that CB can create interesting, tactically nuanced characters with fun toolkits without falling back on the standard optimization train of sticking mimetism on everything and shaving its points at every turn. Krit certainly has his flaws, but he's a direction that I really hope to see more of in the future, it's always great to see actually interesting profiles work well. I'm sure these more nuanced profiles are harder to develop properly, but I think it's well worth the effort.
I think next time I'm also going to try Kirt along with Hulang with Crazy koalas. The one thing about this particular mission is that it's a 16" deployment. So they both can be up to half the table with their 8" FD. I like that I can put out a repeater or mine along with a Koala.
Minelayer Kokram doesn’t have d-charges? Is that legit? First time I’ve seen an engineer without them
Damn, never realized that... I did "cheat" a couple times then with the Sabotage Classified (thankfully not in any competitive game).
SCOUT (Minelayer) Ohotnik, D-Charges, Shock Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 30) YURIKO ODA (Forward Deployment [+8"]) Combi Rifle, E/Mitter, D-Charges, Shock Mines / Pistol, CC Weapon. (0 | 27) Though seriously I think they simply want to keep him slightly limited in the number of missions he can qualify for. I'm also not certain whether you're allowed to deploy the D-charges on anything useful since they have to respect the same general deployment restrictions that troopers do, so no base contact with objectives or enemy troopers.
Yu Jing can't have nice things lol. Seriously though this is difficult for missions where you need midfield guys with anti-material CC weapons. IA only has one infiltrator, Zhencha (and only one profile), two profiles of Forward Deploy Hulang, and one profile of Special Operative Liu Xing. As we know, the high cost of them means you might have one, maybe two, of those. There are others forces worse off, but those that have them, are really good at it. A Fiday can just walk up to a terrain piece first turn, first order. So I don't understand why they would leave it off Krit. It's not like he could use it minelayer.
Based on Krit and the Zhencha, I honestly always assumed the Minelayer/D-Charge thing was thematic more than anything else - only so much space in those pouches.
To make listbuilding more complicated than “take Krit FD, a hacker, and every gun you can afford.” Krit has two other profiles; both have D-charges and can go in a fast 6-2 Haris. If the other two members are a Shang Ji hacker and Zuyong paramedic, that Haris can do almost every Classified in the deck and can get upfield with NCO. The Liu Xing hacker alone can complete 12 different classifieds. Leave Krit home and take a LX hacker and Zhencha BSG FO and you’ve covered almost every classified except the ones requiring a doctor, engineer, or MSV. Outside IA, the Daofei has d-charges on every single profile, including the hacker. That’s not awful. We have nice things, they just sometimes require compromises in list design.
I'm not sure I find a Engineer without D-Charges to be thematic. But whatevs. He's still pretty good.
2 of 3 Monstrucker Profiles, one of the Dozer Profiles and Parvati don't have D-Charges either. But most of the rest have D-Charges: Kaplans, Evaders, Tomcats, Muyibs, Najjaruns, Cordelia, Brawlers, Karhu and so on
