In previous edition i could deploy using a command token an evo hacker with coordinated jump actived... but cant find this rule anymore in n4... is it right? :/

So... is it worthy to use this combination if i need to skip the impetious in order to activate the program first?

    Welcome to the forum!

No, in N3 you could activate an EVO Gadgetware Program like Overclock or Kaleidoscope. N3 Controlled Jump could not be activated.

But the new N4 Controlled Jump can now be activated in ARO, and lasts until cancelled, so if an enemy acts in your Hacking Area in their first turn, you could activate Controlled Jump and potentially still have it active in your first turn.

Hasn't a EVO got you the +3 automatically? Well, that is the past.

For N4, at least from my point of view, the EVO may be a good addition if you also plan to field the Rafiq redfury and/or aggressive Jannissaires, so that you can get a second use of the EVO. Otherwise you pay additional points for a rare use and it is not that frequent that your Kameel gets the chance to ARO before your Yuans may drop.

YY are not as good anymore. They must use the impetuous order to jump, and loose their Irregular. It's almost better to put them in regular deployment. At least then they can use both Imp and Irr orders. This is of course if they are just used for smoke. For attacking i'd rather use a Bashi now. I love throwing down some E/M mines in opponents deployment! And a boarding shotgun is no joke either.

Why? Impetuous activations are optional in N4.

Impetuous being optional alone makes YY better than N3. Hold them to T2/T3, deploy them normally as safe & cheap smoke throwers, or throw them at enemies the old fashioned way.

Removing the irregular after deployment using impetuous simply brings them in line with other airborne troopers, while remaining significantly cheaper still.

Is there any actual difference between deploying during the Impetuous phase and losing the model's order from ignoring the Impetuous phase entirely and deploying with the model's own order?

You don't have to deploy during the impetuous phase. So, you could clear out a TR hmg watching a spot you want to bring the YY on, and then bring him on safely without triggering that ARO.

In this case, you chose not to use the Imp order, and spend the irregular order to bring him on.

the other case, you spend the imp order and the irregular order is simply "lost" or not added to the order pool (on that player turn only) for...reasons.

If YY survives the turn, he will then generate both the imp and irreg orders as per usual.

Trying to squeeze some juice... A druze can launch an antenna and then be use by the kameel for the ARO but... Too much steps, no?

That and you essentially are putting your EVO hacker in danger of getting fried by the enemy KHD through the repeater.

As far as I understood HellLois' explanations, it boils down to the YY losing the "enter + irregular", so if you enter in the Impetuous phase, he would lose the Irregular Order, but if he doesn't, he could use the irregular to enter like any other irregular AD/Parachustist trooper.
So they change the 2 self orders from N3 for not being forced to enter in the 1st turn.

Yes, they change the 2 self orders for 1, but there are other's with 2 "self orders" like Diomedes (alpeh) and Van zant (ariadna) that are NCO, but our loved yuan yuan can't go with 2.

For me that explaination doesn't make any sense

You explained the mechanical difference. The net result including (so far as I can tell) is that an Impetuous trooper or or a Coordinated Order don't get to use two orders. As Fenrir said right up above me. :} But thank you for making sure I wasn't overlooking anything.

I think I could re-write the whole thing with better language than they used. Ah well.

If either Diomedes or Van Zant are brought on with a coordinated order they would not generate an order when brought on to the table.

The NCO ability doesn’t generate any orders so comparing it to models not generating an order when brought onto the table after the phase of the game when orders are generated is a false equivalency. The order used by the NCO abilify is generated whether or not Van Zant strolls onto the table and isn’t actually an order associated with him.

A better comparison to use would be the Cutter from PanO. It has Hidden Deployment and Tactical Awareness. If that model was not on the table when orders are generated, it will not receive the order from Tactical Awareness. The FAQ made Parachutist and Combat Jump models work more like how Hidden Deployment interacts with Tactical Awareness.

Sorry I did forget you are no longer obligated to use the Impetuous. Regardless, you still lose the Irregular order if you do. Not that bad for the most part. I also forgot this was QK and not Ikari, who has more options for smoke. I do think YY has their place but personally I'd rather set them up in deployment to lay down smoke for Djanbazan or troops to move forward.
