I like that idea. You could replacing those Shasvastii heads with Morat ones if you wish as well
Perhaps they could even be used for other conversions for Human factions?

TBH I'm surprised we haven't seen more of it so far.

Also, the Zerat...she has one points lower BS, but can start mid-table with her Red Fury, and have mines, and is a whopping 9 points less.

And if you really, really wanna go and murder things in the enemy deployment zone with MSV1, there's the Grief operator, for only 20 points. Or Ko Dali...

I often run a Charontid HMG with MSV3, making that Jayth Cutthroath MSV1 feel even more redundant.

The N4 upgrade where Zerats now have mimetism -6 instead of their former -3 for basically no cost change has massively increased how viable they are in vanilla. They now actually represent an interesting choice vs. Shrouded and Malignos, rather than being strictly worse, as they generally were in N2 and N3.

Now if we could just get some new models for them my Onzat could stop masquerading as one.

This just means we're getting new Oznat model, no new Zerats. Thanks, I hate it ;)

I think the answer is they lack both speed and staying power for their cost and equipment. If they were given one of these i think they would become usable. Fw deployment 4”, 6-2 move. Alternatively staying power from dogged or regeneration.

Nah, I still love the old Zerats. I use the sniper as the red fury, and even converted a shotgun FO back when that was first added.

There's also the fact she brings a different set of weapons, including flame templates, even as a hacker now. It does help the model stand out as an option even when compared to the Shrouded.

I would enjoy a new model, though. We haven't seen a morat red fury yet.

Give Jayth a Multi Sniper profile and that shit would see play.

Yeah, part of the problem is that all the weapons are pretty short range, but the unit has no tools for moving up the table safely. I don’t feel good spending 25 points on a 4-4 MOV non-impetuous model that starts in my deployment zone and is armed with chain rifles and no smoke.

Red Fury profile already costs 38pts, you want them to cost even more? At that point imo you're better off just grabbing a Malignos MSR, that has hidden deployment and infiltration. Or if you're in vanilla, just use Armand Le Muet.

Wow, yeah, Armand vs a Jayth is a really harsh comparison. They’re paying an awful lot for MA3 and some minor stat changes compared to transmutation, a more expensive weapon, and forward deployment.

Edit: double checking against the Zerat, I think a Red Fury and a MULTI Sniper Rifle actually cost about the same now.

oh, nice catch. yeah, MSR is 2pts cheaper, but RF profile also has mines. Interesting.

Yep, they discounted Multi Snipers on all troops that are also paying for infiltration. Makes sense, really - hard to use both of those effectively at the same time.

Is this an army bug or do sync'd taigha turn in their chain-colts for mines?

It's not a bug - it was in N3 as well. And yes it's kind of bad? Probably? If nothing else it makes maximising the use of the synchronised rule really tricky.

Jesus, they really went out of their way to make every profile as unusable as possible. Completely didn't notice the mines on the Taigha.

Just more shit piled on to make them more shit.
