This is correct. The Defiance Kickstarter was after the new bases which debuted with Op: Wildfire in August 2019 before the KS in November 2019, but it kept the round bases so that players could use the coloured identifier rings, and because Facing has no effect on the gameplay of Defiance.
During the Kickstarter campaign, I asked CB about the bases. Defiance uses the old bases because the new ones were incompatible with those colored rings that are used to mark different groups of opponents.
Which I prefer, anyway. Though the more recent sculpts are better about making it easier to make the mini face towards the middle of its front arc.
I have my shipping details just come last night. I should be getting the package around the 4th. Now I just have to prepare myself for the very possible customs tax. Yikes!
Picked up the box and did a quick survey of the contents. Thankfully nothing seems to be missing. I then spent 2 hours sleeving cards Will dig in to the rules and assembling minis in the weekend.
Btw, guys, I forget and can't dig for it now - are we getting the alt hero parts + double bodies for them this wave? Cadin with claymore, etc? Or are they Wave2 and we only get basic models now? Mine reached Poznań now, it seems it's gonna get here tomorrow! :3
Can anyone tell me the size and weight of a Deluxe pledge all in one box as it comes from CB? The chances of me travelling to Plague Island any time soon is vanishingly slim and I'm wondering how much it will cost for my parents to ship it to me.
iiirc before shipping from China something around 8-10kg was mentioned? From the pics and vids people have shown the box looks to be about 60x60x50cm? I'll see if my home weight registers the box or I'll check if the DHL sticker states the weight and I'll give you precise measurements once mine arrives :)
Oh yes, it’s a nice sized package. Most of the weight is the card stock from the tiles and tokens, not the metal minis. Remember contents are listed on the bottom of the boxes. Check that you get the plastic bag with the missing tokens, and that duchess and gaspar— which have been missing in some boxes — are in the collectors box, and the 40mm base (which iirc is in the collectors box ) when you unpack everything. overall, it is a very visually appealing set of game components. As a board game veteran, I can say CB did very well indeed in producing a high quality game, at least as far as the physical components go. The proof of the game itself is in the play.
