This was asked from time to time in N3 and I don't recall that it was ever answered definitively. Either way, I ask it again in N4:

In missions with a Designated Target, does the DT have an Unconscious state? Can it be revived by a doctor?

The Doctor skill doesn't require that its target be a friendly model (you can doctor an unconscious enemy trooper if you want to).

The DT rule says "the enemy's HVTs are considered enemy Troopers instead of Neutral Civilians." Arguably, this means that rules which apply to Troopers apply to them, including the rule that if they lose their last point from their Wounds attribute, they enter the Unconscious state.

My tentative conclusion is that DTs can go unconscious and can be doctored, but I'd like to be convinced otherwise.

Doctor requires BTB and BTB with an enemy, even Unconscious, used to trigger Engaged State in N3, which prevented this from working.
Also pretty sure there was an ITS related FAQ thing about it for N3 that said no.

With N4 being in BTB with an Unconscious model no longer triggers Engaged (and CC Attacks require BTB rather than Engaged) - so that's different.
Unless you can find an FAQ thing for ITS or general, Doctor on any Unconscious Model (with Wounds) at all should work now.

    From ITS12
    DESIGNATED TARGET
In some scenarios, the enemy HVTs are considered enemy Troopers instead of Neutral Civilians, so they can be targeted by Attacks.
HVTs that are Designated Targets are reactive and hostile, reacting as if they are an enemy Trooper.

    From Wiki
    Hostile (https://infinitythewiki.com/Alignment)
A game element with its own Attributes that does not belong to the Army List of any of the players. It is considered an Enemy by all the players and is able to declare and receive Attacks.

    So, strictly speaking...
Medikit have to target an ALLIED model. Designated Targets ARE NOT Allied Model
Doctors just need A TARGET. So you can use this in contact.

Eeesh, complicated outcome. Thank you for the research @tox .

This seems like something to go in the ITS FAQ requests. And let's hope that a simple answer comes out, that we can either heal them just like friendly troopers (including via Medikits), or that we cannot heal them at all and they have no Unconscious state.

    Look it this way...

Paramedics are trained to fix comrades.
Doctors have that little something called Hippocratic Oath that makes them help whoever is in need.

Follow-up question @HellLois : Can the Designated Target be revived with a Medikit (by a Paramedic)?

Right now the RAW does not allow Medikits to revive DTs (because they are not an Allied model). Of course it would be a lot simpler if you could do that as well as Doctor them.
