Is Madrid really still snowed in? Weather apps show me 8C during the day, I'd have assumed it all melted away by now?

Anyway, please remember to ship mine today and we'll be fine ;)

Good luck with the process and hope we can see our stuff soon :)

I'm sure most of us would pay a slight upcharge to have the paper products sent to Spain and assembly done in house rather than sending the minis to China, but the general Kickstarter public wouldn't. They complained about the minis being metal, and also that there wasn't an option without minis entirely.
Of course, the tokens are cool, so a token-only game would certainly have worked fine and gotten more units shipped, but it wouldn't showcase Corvus Belli as much. Talking it with a friend, I think they should have used more Aristeia! models to get more cross over there (in addition to the dice) and really showcase both product lines.

Maybe if we get a RemRacer game they'll apply the lessons learned. :)

Awaken Realms is in Poland and has all their stuff done in China, so I doubt it's a big help. Same "english as second language" problems too, but also some really neat minis. :)

This kickstarter was most certainly not aimed at the general kickstarter public, so what that element would have done is really of no concern. CB has used Spanish printers, so that ought not be a problem. N.B. how much of the Defiance printed material was printed in China. Other parts, like the tokens are done in-house in other EU businesses, no? The only necessary Chinese element seems to be the miniatures game-pieces made of Chinesium, like those with Aristeia!

Now, about this snow in Madrid. When is someone going to post photos of a snowman SnowT.A.G. -- preferably a Jotum, for thematic purposes. C'mon Madrileños, a ¡trabajar!

Completely opposite. Minis are metal, made in Spain, all print is made in China. They shipped boxes with minis to China, then printers added all the printed stuff and did packaging, sending complete boxes back to Spain for EU / Rest of the World Wave 1.

US + Canada / Australia Wave 1 packages were sent directly from China to respective countries.

Huh, now I wish they also included hero tokens (like enemy tokens in Outcast) so you could just play right away. I mean, how much can a sheet of cardboard cost? Could also make a bare 'base' box cheaper.
UPD. Oh, wait. Never mind that, judging by the Core Contents page in pdfs with missing tokens IT ACTUALLY HAS THEM. Now I'm even more puzzled why they didn't bother with no miniature base box.

While it may not have been aimed at a more general audience, they certainly weren't trying to exclude that audience. A higher price point would have kept more people from buying, and maybe it wouldn't matter to the die hards, but there are plenty of folks that bought the game for the game, not just for the minis, so a broader appeal was part of the equation.
For many people, this was an introduction to CB, but you are right that these people probably won't convert over, especially if CB doesn't do any more kickstarters.

The Aristeia plastic mini's are made in China I believe, but I'm honestly not sure how much of the normal Infinity/ Aristeia stuff is made in Spain/ EU vs China. N4/Kaldstrom say printed in Spain. Defiance manual is China.

Amusingly, the Operation: Whatever plastic trays are handy for the tokens and stuff. I didn't save the old boxes from Icestorm and stuff, but they'd be handy for storage too. I use the Starmade pack box for my Altar Quest tokens/ dice too.

The tray for Defiance is nice enough, but since I don't sleeve and they didn't give dividers, the card slots are mostly worthless. I bought a little broken token box for them though.

Aristeia! products are made completely in China and shipped to CB, the non-miniature parts are all made by the same people IIRC.

You have misread. Try again. The point was what CB can do in the future, not what they did do in this particular instance. Clearly CB did not use a Spanish printer for this. They have used Spanish printers for the rulebooks. ( No idea about N4, since I don't own the book) This demonstrates that they can use Spanish printers for future boardgame projects if they so chose. I encourage them to make that choice.
Lol. Nomads, eh? I suppose that fellow in the pointy hat is the hacker? IIRC there were stone giants (Jotums) in the Hobbit and LoTR.

Big news hit, all kind of special coverage, no such event in decades. Pics? To sum up in words:
    - Lots of snow Friday 8th and Saturday 9th in the centre of the country, next days moved to the east (Galicia is northwest).

    - Then low temperatures for some days and the snow became ice in lots of places. Thermal inversion, same or higher temps at the mountains than at the plains. This also means worse pollution, even with no cars, just heating.

    - Underground (subway) as only way to move around the first days. Surface trains stopped until rails cleaned. Chains for cars inside cities. Over a thousand trapped in roads nearby or inside (highways going in and out, or around) the capital city.

    - Trucks stopped in the middle of nowhere. Fresh food supply was low around the 11th and next. Central market was closed first weekend.

    - 4WD enthusiasts volunteered the first days as ambulance service. People died, some familes had to keep the corpse a couple of days at home. Guardia Civil team moving supplies from the blood bank to hospitals, mountain adventure style. Some healthcare staff walking/skiing multiple Km to get to work, so others could rest after being two or more days trapped and on duty.

    - Read somewhere that nobody was ready, being a sun & beaches country. Shops ran out of tools quick (hey, the spades will be great for sand castles in coming summers). The politicians at all levels did not prepare for the forecasted levels (~30cm of snow), so when it went beyond that, all fell into frozen mode (ha... ha... ha..., *slowclap*). Business were sending workers home early on 8th, as self imposed measure.

    - Lots of snowmen. People using skiis, sleighs, etc inside towns the first days. Snowboard and car instead of water skiis and boat? Why not...

    - People slipped a lot next days and raised health care usage (trauma) past week. Places ran out of plaster for a brief period.

    - Good number of frozen pipes and heaters. Repair crews trying to unclog devices, or even fix ruptures. Some will have to wait a week or two for a solution.

    - Trees have fallen, making the clean up slower. Madrid is second city in the world after Tokyo by number of trees (TV said... well... maybe not anymore once they have to cut the dead ones). Months to check everything, some damage will not be obvious until they get out of winter mode.

    - Some indoor sport and other warehouse like places collapsed. Roofs in car parkings went down and destroyed or trapped cars. Other cars just trapped in the streets with ice around them.

    - Main airport has machines, inspired in Russian methods, bought after (IIRC) 2009 fuck up with less snow than this time... but companies did nothing (training exercises? what is that?) and the Military Emergency Unit had to help them at the same time than helping civilians all over the centre land. Once the emergency level went down, the Unit went back to HQs or somewhere else to help (but still work to do... coordination sucks, or maybe it is political confrontation).

    - Plan for schools was to stay closed a couple of days. Postponed multiple times... current plan is 20th, >10 after the snow.

    - Free public bus service in city centre this Mon-Wed (over a week after the snow), trying to reduce car traffic. Main streets have some lanes, but not all, clean. Small streets still have lots of snow/ice, sometimes fully closed. Big piles of frozen snow all over the cities & towns as of yesterday.

Aaah, yes, also Covid's third wave on full strength. Politicans going headless chicken over that too, everyone doing whatever they want. 2021 is trying one up 2020 with this pace.

It would be nice if not for all the deaths and destruction.

N4 was printed in Spain. Betrayal in Lithuania(!?). Spain was a big toy maker, unemployment skyrocketing thanks to certain virus and the spastic measure taken. Portugal has shittier wages than Spain, and is near. (Dejavu, we are repeating ourselves)

Oh, I knew about the snow-in a week ago, etc. - just didn't think it was snowed in anymore, what with the ~10C weather.

Hoping for good news from Koni. Or even better - an "already shipped" email!

Max can be 10C, but min have been below zero regularly (some weather forecasters forget one number... summer days being 15 to 35 is not the same than 25 to 35, retard talking head only saying 35... useless... FYI in case you do some tourism around Spain). Things in shadow do not melt much, others melt and refreeze, becoming harder to remove than plain snow.

The missing pieces were sent to the fullfilment company who delivered the wave 1 in Australia and they should ship to the backers in the coming weeks :)

Snow doesnt melt because is plastic (or that is what some people are saying on twitter)

Now, seriously, i live about two hours north of Madrid, in the middle of nowhere, mostly cereal plains, no near mountains, snow once every 10 years... and all is still frozen. 10 days after the big snow. The big avenues are clear, but you still can find snow in some points of the city. And we got much MUCH less snow (we got about 5 to 10 cm, Madrid 30 to 50)

Yes, snow start to melt, but it froze again because the over zero temperatures doesnt last long enough. Fog froze in the air and is a bit dangerous to drive.

Corvus Belli could send special teams with Jotums and other special troops from Svalarheima to make the shipments, at least in Spain.
    Just saying.
