How do you split your order groups?

I have been playing n4 since it dropped and it’s my foray into infinity. I’m really new to the game and I’m enjoying myself. My biggest problem is with non elite forces how do I split my orders?
I find myself with 10 regulars and 4 irregulars. Do I put all the regulars together in group b or split them?
An example is my newly built Ikari I have Scarface and cordelia, 2 Druze hackers, 3 wu Ming , a brawler lieutenant, couple of rems , 2 yuan yuan and 2 desperadoes. The wuming and the lt and a clipper form a core. How do I split them?

I tend to split orders into 10+5 , or at least 9+6, if we're talking about regular orders.
If I have some irregulars, then it depends whether model is active, or there for ARO duties, it will depend where it goes. e.g., if it's Liberto, then I goes into first big group, as that irregular order most likely won't hinder my turn, as Liberto is a great active model and will use it's own irregular order. if it's something that will die and you have little incentive to move it, then it goes to second group. If by a chance I end up with like, 10 regular and 5 irregular ones, I'll try to do a 9+1/1+4 groups, as if ain't got a single regular order in a group, you might not be able to utilise an opening, as sometimes it's not enough, and too costly do transform an irregular order each turn.

    10-5 typically.

Basically, if it takes a unit 2 orders to get to a position to fight and another 2 orders to retreat to a position where it won't get obliterated by any given HMG on your opponent's first order you have
10-5 divide: up to 6 orders for full combat effect on one premium unit and up to 5 orders on specialists or prepping ARO units in group 2
7-8 divide: up to 3 orders for full combat effect on two different premium units and 0 orders on specialists or prepping ARO units.
Additionally, if one premium unit gets stuck or killed off with the 10-5 divide I have an easier time getting a second premium unit to pick up the slack with cheaper CT cost to even out the groups for full effect.

In your example you have two premium units; Scarface and the Wu Ming Core. Your list has a lot of irregular orders and while Yuan Yuan don't need more orders than they themselves generate typically, the Desperados may need order fuel. I'm not too familiar with Ikari, but applying knowledge from other factions I'd probably try and reduce the number of irregular units or reduce your dependence/expectations of them.
Additionally, given the units you list, it seems you've either skimped on the Wu Ming's loadouts or your only running one REM - the clipper.

Basically, if someone handed me those models and told me "arrange them as you like, but this is your list", I would put all 9 regular orders and a Yuan Yuan in group 1 and put the remaining irregulars in group 2:

(Btw, with "skimping on Wu Ming loadout" I mean not bringing at minimum a HMG and a Grenade Launcher. By the by, the list seems very vulnerable to assassinations or DZ-locking with the LT being in the core and unique candidate)
