So I just noticed last night that many of the older Spec-Ops models are going Last Chance to buy (end of March). This doesn't appear to include the new Hatail, Kaizoku or TAK Intel Spec-Ops, but does include the Grunt Intel Spec-Ops, and others. As their description tells us, these are fantastic proxies for any missing profile or model etc, where AVA is high and you don't wish to buy duplicates (or dislike a specific model) they're a real bonus! Most of all they include extra weapons which you can use for conversions to get those missing profiles sorted out. @Koni does this mean we will hopefully be seeing these re-appear as new models in the future with a new variation of spare weapons for conversions?
@infyrana How do you select for Last Chance to Buy? Also stunned that Grunt Intel Spec Ops is one of the LCTB :o
@Nuada Airgetlam No idea, but it would appear that using my mobile phone to view the website shows the label (when looking through all 40 pages of models earlier today), but for my PC, I did not see the label until I clicked on each of the models. Yep, I was also surprised at that one hence I mentioned it as I think it's the newest of the old ones on Last Chance. It would be great if there was a forum post whenever a set of models goes up for Last Chance to buy so we can view and miss out.
The Spec Ops getting old. Now that the Defiance Doubles are in the pipline, CB has to find something to resculpt, because models for new profiles can wait ... okay, new Spec Ops are not the baddest idea.
They might also hold off on some spec ops until doing another campaign rules update book, but the spec ops guys make good single blisters for them I think, so who knows.
I'm thinking they will possibly continue to add a Ltd Ed Spec Ops into the odd new box set, then a general release later (think Kaizoku and Hatail spec ops models). The TAK one is new and wasn't added into a box, instead the Coldfront Pre-Order mini was the Wardriver iirc. I'm hoping that Nomads might get a new one following any hopeful release of new Corregidor models.
@colbrook yep they sure did, though the Hatail looks a lot different from each other, I wonder if they tried to cover both the Spiral Corps and Tohaa looks by making them so different :)
I'm shocked too. Got to grab me some of those then. Is this announcement from CB's store? I wonder if retailers will be able to purchase a last restock order from the company to have Spec-Ops for last chance customers.
CB don't seem to announce LCTB, they just stealth put them on the list and you need to actively go looking for them.
Understood. They have announced to-be-discontinued items on their youtube videos in the past. Shame they don't continue that tradition.
Maybe they will cover it in the next studio update. But I don“t need a video. CB has this forum. It would be a good idea to put things like this in the news thread.
Maybe those will be the "character blister" for code1... XD I doubt we'll see new SpecOps rules/gearlists until N5... sadly, since the lists are a mess. I think it's not possible. You just browse the catalog and the Last Chance image is shown "on top" (as a different layer) of the base image :(
Maybe if they do a new book or some special (online) event. At least the last Spec Op mini come with the June-Release in the Teuton box.
They are releasing either resculpts of old specops (shasvastii in the Nox box...) or new ones that never had an exclusive model (MO). I'm not sure that shows a future update to the SpecOps system, however.
