Cassandra Kusanagi (Spitfire) - March 2021 Oh wow, yay! Finally (Bakunin discontinued confirmed?). Althought having backed the Platinum Defiance to finally get new Kusanagi sculpt and some other minis that didn't see resculpts for years I really don't like how they rub it in the face with all these new releases hitting the stores waaay ahead of KS shipping.
Any chance you could fix the "IMG" issue of no picture please? Looking forward to see this if that's what the image is of :) Thanks!
It's the march releases list, no image of the new model yet. Though it does list her as having a Spitfire.
With the new Operation box, which was supposed to be an Adepticon release, which would have meant April for general preorders, but there's no Adepticon this year and I don't know how much 2020 has affected CB's timelines.
https://www.infinitythegame.com/blog/item/853-what-to-expect-from-2021 They mention: We will continue to work for all of you with the same enthusiasm as we always have, and although we do not yet know what to expect of 2021 and whether or not conventions can be held, we will continue with our planning. Our great releases will keep up the usual place.
Yeah, I'm hoping that means we'll still see the next Operation in April, maybe May. I'm really looking forwards to the Kosmoflot stuff!
The social media of the product in March, and you can buy at late April (based on last year product if im not wrong)
That's what I'm hoping, Kaldstrøm last year was also meant to be Adepticon so was March preorder, April delivery. Fingers crossed things are settled enough for them that they can do it again. N4 was meant to be Gen Con (July/August) and ended up being September delivery, but things seemed a lot more chaotic at that point.
Really? I think she's one of the few bright spots in Observance Troops. Sometimes you really need a Lt who won't go down from 1 wound, and she's quite a capable short range gunfighter, especially in a Haris (which also gives you the capacity to utilise NCO for her Lt order maybe making a single Moira worth considering, and pop a Custodier you might already be taking in there too).
Now with both new Kusanagis to compare the only things that still bothers me with the old one is the facial expression. The general sculpt and pose are way more interesting to look at than the new quite statuesque poses... despite having better equipment and definitively more experience that part of the sculpt becomes more bland from release to release.
Pic updated. Man... I expected something better. Is she falling backwards after stepping on a skirt and a rock or getting ready to dash forward?
I really like it, it keeps the dynamism of the original without being quite so rediculous and hard to put together. You can probably pin and reinforce the foot to remove the "support rock" as well.
Yeah I like that they tried to keep a sense of the dynamism of the original. But it's a bit hard for me to interpret how she is moving and why. The curve of the back suggests she is moving suddenly backwards while the height of the knee implies forwards to me. I guess she is tracking rapidly sideways at an angle while looking down the optical sight in a fast moving gunfight? Just seems a bit awkward, while at the same time the hunch of her back and the expression on her face look a bit evil to me. At least she is kicking ass I guess. The defiance one looks a lot more heroically statuesque in a renaissance painting kind of way, though I guess sexualised too.
