If Moonchild is hit by an attack that also causes a State can the damage be applied causing her to flip then the State applied afterwards? Example: Axl attacks Moonchild with Low Kick doing 2 damage plus the automatic -2 move that the attack applies. Can Axl do the damage which causes Moonchild to flip and then apply -2 move to her flipped (blue) side? Or are all effects (damage and automatic effects) applied first then Moonchild flips and so she would remove the - 2 move State token as well. Another example: Lunah does Suppressive Fire and gets her Switch for 1 damage which is enough to flip Moonchild and a success to apply - 2 Move. Switches happen before calculating success so would the damage be applied causing Moonchild to flip then she receives the - 2 move State? Or, do all effects of the action (including the Switches) need to be resolved before Moonchild flips so she would take the wound from the Switch and the - 2 Move from the success before flipping and therefore remove the State?
Well... Most of those issues can be resolved applying strictly the Action Sequence... As stated in the FAQs, the Damage is done at the resolution of the roll, ant the state is imposed at the Action's Effect step (in this precise order), so Moonchild is flipped and then the -2 is imposed Again, the Switch is applied at the Switches step of the roll, and the -2 at the Action's Effect step (in this order). Hope this helps! :3
@Damiel are you sure about that? If you check the Wiki step 4 of an action is about effects and with the first article in the FAQ step 5 is changed to resolution step. Change the title of step 5 to read: 5. Resolution This being said: https://www.aristeiathegame.com/wiki/article/5-actions Step 1: Requirements Step 2: Declaration Step 3: Roll (and Switches) Step 4: Effects Step 5: Resolution Combined with the FAQ mentioned by you: Q: Must all Damage be inflicted in an Attack, or is it possible to choose how many Successes become Damage? A: During the Resolution of the Roll, all uncancelled Successes become Damage. So with regular damage, Moonchild would transform and get rid of all states. And with switch damage, she would transform and get states from effects afterwards.
Well... I'm positively sure... Your Action Sequence is incomplete... So both with Switch Damage or regular Damage, Moonchild is flipped, then States imposed :3
Wow, that helps a lot with dealing with Moonchild ! If she flips then take effects such as -2, then she is more under control because she's only 3 . Thank you for this clarification.
