Nothing that a good razorsaw, a steady hand, some pinning and GS can't do. It just comes with practice. Having started gaming with metal minis back in the 80s, and 90s when the tin content of metal minis went up, CB minis are a doddle to cut up. It's a bit of a learning curve if your entry into ttmg was via GW plastics, though.
im thinking on converting MacMurrough. is there anybody that has done it before? I've seen on google one made with a devil dog, and other with a dog warrior; but i cant find it on this thread.
My McMurrough. Converted from a devil dog (heavy shotgun). The original hands are moulded onto the heavy shotgun. So I reposed the arms. Why did I use the devil dog when there was an existing McMurrough model? I dislike kilts. Almost as much as I dislike bagpipes. Sculpted a new pointing hand. Press moulded a copy of a GW gloved ork hand with a chainrifle for the other one.
It's been a while since I posted a conversion, but of course it's my civic duty to share. Here's a Hundun Heavy Rocket Launcher Conversion. Sure I could've proxied it with my old Raiden or just the base Hùndùn multi-sniper model but it's about having something to prove. (Imgur Album with more angles)
I got a spare set of starter set Nomads that I plan to use for conversions. Made a quick Moran from torso & head swapped alguaciles: Spoiler: Moran and a very WIP Raoul from Grenzer legs and a Knight Models torso. : Spoiler: Raoul
So, is your problem the current model? I did a slight reposing/resculpting of the sword arm, and I think it looks MUCH better
Working on Shrouded and Malignos. Swapped their arms to make a Malignos KHD (gotta 3d print the SMG still), and a Shrouded Boarding Shotgun. Not a difficult conversion, just need to clean up the shoulder pad of the shrouded when the GS cures more.
Yes definitely looks better. But I don't think it's menacing enough. I might try to have a go converting it from a dog warrior
Trying to do some Ariadnan things here too^^. Bearpod conversion I'll use until the official one will arrive...it came out s7 instead of s6...but i like it anyway.
Battle-worn Veteran Daofei, you can see it because he got BRAIDS. Oh THE BRAIDS. My paint-commissioner had finished his work; since I often make minis which I couldn't paint, well I commissioned it to our famous painter guy. Spoiler: MOAR pics
Alternative Brawlers: Generic/ Sniper+V2/ Hacker/ Missile Launcher. I like the original models of brawlers but not to use them as such, I will probably buy them to use them as Govads/Sekbans. For my brawlers I prefer that they better represent their troop logo. .
About looking for an arm with a melee weapon that would fit the sin eater sniper. Preferably in exchange for the rifle arm. Does anyone have an idea?
Just assembled my second box of Thorakitai, this time with weapons from Monstrous Makings so I could get the shock marksman rifle, light rocket launcher, and boarding shotgun profiles. Tossed a Chain Rifle on my second SMG model so I have all the weapon options available on newer sculpts.
Well, this is a conversion that I did, after reading Betrayal, with a humble zanshi that I had abandoned there. Now she's my new speculo killer.
@colt that's probably the only version of that mini I would NOT want to meet on any given day lol... Great creativity, conversion and paint work nonetheless!
Thank you! the truth is that the concept of assassin or speculo agent is very inspiring to take any miniature and get to work ... having kitsune arms and a sexy zanshi lying around also helps.
@colt - very good idea and nice execution! :) I like almost all of your sculpting and all of the painting, but I'm a bit sad you've left the right hand in that position - it looks like her shoulder is misplaced. I think the anatomy of human and Shas are quite similar in that matter and if you worked with it a bit more the conversion would look much more natural. PozdRawiam / Greetings
