I want to hear you guys, are you using any Maakrep profile in OCF? He's too expensive and fragile for ARO with the MSR, we don't have smoke to abuse the MSV2, the Rodok with HMG is better vs anything without mimetism. While Regeneration is much better now, PH11 is still a risk and a 4 men-link gets sixth sense. He would be so much better with transmutation or link bonuses... I'm failing to see what's good about it? Help me great overmind, you're my only hope!
I love N4 regeneration and I'm not prepared to play a PH11 model with the rule because it would probably make me hate it. I use the model a lot though; they're sweet.
Addendum: I think you could maybe take the hacker in Countermeasures. Not only can she do a bunch of missions, but regeneration killing her there is often almost as good as it bringing her back because you mostly don't want the enemy to be able to do classifieds on her body.
Yeah, I have a Sygmaa Trihedron converted tohaa army - I've used Makreep bodies and heads separately for several elements.
I use the hacker in vanilla for the sixth sense, which can be pretty helpful. I haven't ever brought her in onyx.
@RobertShepherd Even though I hate playing against Tohaa, I would absolutely not mind taking a beating against that army. Well done.
Lol, now i'm convinced that CB thinks that Maakreps with transmutation or link options would break the game, not that B6 HMGs don't do it already, but hey, why buff the poor bastard alien?
Yeah it’s too bad but I can’t really find any real compelling reason to run one in OCF. It would be nice if they had added a FO/sensor profile.
Seconded on sensor. I would strongly consider playing an FD+8" sensor BSG Maakrep if it were reasonably costed (29 pts..?). A capable midfield camo flusher would be great, as without smoke to hide our advance that's an area OCF could use a boost. Ko Dali gets mimetism -3 plus MSV2 plus FD+4 and a whole fancy kit on top of that for 35 (and is linkable...). Another reason never to take the "Meh-krap" as-is.
I used to use the boarding shotgun and grenades profile quite a bit as a short range camo hunter, tossing the occasional grenade. Regeneration means if the enemy does go after them, they need to dedicate resources to kill it while unconscious, or shock it down. It did fine, but if there was a sensor option, I'd be ALL over that. The sniper and HMG have their uses too I think. MSV + HMG is always nice in the active turn, and a regenerating MULTI sniper can be very obnoxious. Usually I find myself going for a Yaogat Spitfire though if I want a MSV2 gunfighter (other than a Charontid), but infiltrating Ko Dali, or even the cheap 22 point Haiduk are tempting for that role nowadays.
