Here's a quick question. In N4, if you coordinate a BS Attack and one model has the Surprise Attack (-3) rule, does the targeted model suffer -3 if they shoot a different member of the coordinated order? This is the relevant line from Surprise Attack (emphasis my own): "This Attack imposes an additional negative MOD, as shown in round brackets in the Unit Profile [Surprise Attack (-3), Surprise Attack (-6)...]. This MOD only applies to targets of the Attack, and applies to any Skill Roll that those targets perform in ARO." https://infinitythewiki.com/Surprise_Attack This is similar to the issue of mines inflicting -3 to the target if they choose to Dodge a different BS Attack. In N3 you would apply mods differently to different rolls (your dodge would be -3 to the mine, but no penalty against a BS attack), but there is no wording for that in N4 that I've found. Basically the real question is that if two different sources of attacks inflict a negative mod, do they stack? Presumably they do not, but that's not how the rules seem to currently work.
This is a different version of a question that's unresolved: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/index.php?posts/377702/ For Surprise Attack it certainly seem like it applies to all rolls performed by the target of Surprise Attack not just rolls against the Trooper that performed Surprise Attack. Edit: so yes, I think the -3 applies to AROs against third parties to the Surprise Attack.
