I was curious which non-Corregidor units+loadouts would be good options for adding to make a well rounded Vanilla list please?

There are lots of nice models for Nomads that cross the sectorials which I've avoided up to now, but I'm looking to start saving ready for next years potential updates like Morans, Wildcats and Evaders etc! But some of the other sectorial models are continuing to catch my eye such as Securitate, Riot Grrls (are their lower body poses all the same?), Kriza, Taskmaster, Szally, Zondnautica etc.

If you have been playing with CJC for a while, what do you miss most? I think with that you can start branching into vainilla.

Example, if you miss some more mid-table presence at affordable prices, take a look at Zeros. Affordable HI? Riott Girls. Shoorting supremacy HI? Kryza. Cheap chaff for that second group? Morlocks. Big mean TAG with big weapon? Szally.

@Willen Sadly I'm more of a collector than a gamer - my joy of the setting and models is 99% of the game, the other 1% is my ability to find and travel to a store that plays Infinity on a suitable day. I'm really hoping once things settle down in the New Year I can make an effort to help support somewhere that plays.

On that note I wouldn't know what I'm missing, I guess I'm trying to find out if picking up a single BS Riot Grrl, Szally or a bunch of Securitates (as examples) would work with the other CJC units to add some flavour to my collection :D

The sad part is, from a callector´s POV, all of the range is beautiful.

I only play CJC but I think I have 95% of the nomad range of minis...

From sectorials to vanilla, leaving aside the Support Pack and the remotes, I provide 3 categories ("sure, you want to have this at hand", "possible" which means that is list-dependant, and "lacking models" meaning that there is no model at this time for sale, so I don't evaluate).
    • Corregidor:
    Moran, Jaguar, Intruder, Tomcats, Geckos
    Possible: Bandits, Iguana, Karlota Kowalski
Lacking models: Sombras, Evaders, Jazz & Billie (wave 1 Defiance at this moment)
    • Bakunin:
Zeros, Morlocks, Uberfallkommando, Moderators (cheapest Lt and regular non-remote order)
Possible: Zoe & Pi Well, Prowler, Riot Grrrls!
    • Tunguska:
Hecklers, Puppetactica, Interventors, securitate, Kriza, Perseus
Possible: Zondnautica, Spekters, Mary Problems, Szalamader,
    Lacking models: cheerkillers.

Obvious combos are Interventors (h+) + Moran and/or the Iguana, Intruder (usually HMG to go hunting) + Morlocks (6pts profiles, all three are good for different stuff), etc..., while the "can do by myself" are the Zeros (KHD and the Deployable Repeater profiles are the most interesting), the Tomcats (engineer, doctor, or deployable repeater/emitter profiles), Geckos, Kriza, Uberfallkommando...

The best buy would be the Tunguska starter box, then the Zeros blister, the puppetactica box, Perseus' blister, and Morlocks box, then it's time to plan the next wave of "to buy" (I would avoid Bakunin's starter box, going instead for the Moderators SWC box or using the Alguciles as proxy, the Riot Grrrrl! Spitfire blister, Zoe & Pi Well blister, Prowlers blister, Spekters blister). The Szalamander is completely dependant on your needing/wanting another TAG, and the same can be said about the Heckler blister (since youwill get one in the Tunguska starter)

@Willen You're not wrong there! Sadly I can't do that with Nomads, I already have too many other models to justify it (like that ever stopped me! hah).

@xagroth That's quite a list there, thank you! Though I would never be able to use all of these suggestions in one list whilst mixing in CJC stuff - I gotta try and limit

Having said that, and since it'll be a great proxy for Jazz+Billie, I think Zoe & Pi Well will likely be first on the list then. I didn't know about Defiance until too late plus they would stand in for Karlota or any NA2 Engineer with bot!

I've been eyeing up the Tunguska starter which fits your best buy as well as the Puppetactica box (though I really want to fix his SMG handle placement). But regarding the Moderators box, I am not a fan of it. I think the Securitate box might (?) be a better choice since it gives me that missing Grenzer and I could use these as proxy for Algs/Mods/Sec/CSU or even Interventors to push the boat out. The downside is the Feuerbach would have to double duty for MSR and ML if it's not too far fetched - but as a whole these look to give me a fast start into Tunguska as much as Vanilla. I think they are a fantastic set of models and I just want an excuse to own and attempt to paint them :D Hah, maybe I should focus on Tunguska as a whole >.< For the other models suggested, I'll take another look and see how they fit in and what's possible :)

For Riot Grrls!, is the Spitfire profile the single best one to get, is the new box worth grabbing at all (even for Starco)?

    1. Szalamandra: Awesome model, awesome stats.
    2. Puppetactica: Lovely models, awesome stats.
    3. Zeros: Models are quite meh, but their battlefield role is critical when dominating midlines.
    4. Morlocks: Cheap warbands, with some nice parody taste in the models, that go well with Intruders.
    5. Zondnautica: Awesome Bubblegum Crisis vibe in the design, and has its own unique position in Vanilla.
    6. Spektre: Similar to Zeros but better at what they do. Nice models.
    7. Hecklers: Awesome models, somewhat cheap and good at harrassing the opponent on battlefield.
    8. Monstruckers: The design is so so, a nice choice when you need a cheap engineer in your Vanilla army list.

Well, don't sweat it, the list is "eventually you want to get this for options", but frankly what makes you play Vanilla are the Zeroes, the Tunguska Starter, the Morlocks (proxable with Jaguars), and the Interventors, everything else is either very specific or supporting either the hacking or the "soft kill" strategy.

I would avoid the SWC securitate box unless you need them for Tunguska, because you will have 3 Securitates with Combi Rifle from the Tunguska Starter; if you have the Alguaciles SWC box, however, or even combi ones, it's an easier situation, because the important thing is to be able to deploy at least 2 different basic infantry (either Securitates & moderators, moderators & alguaciles or securitates & alguaciles) if you need to play with the Lt role.

I mean, it's just a matter of diferenciating the models in case you need to place on the table a mix of basic infantry to hide the Lt (or for cheap orders/pitchers).

If you can get the older box, I'd suggest to do so, since they are the same style as the Spitfire Riot in blister and you get 4 girls instead of 3 and a useless tinbot (I've seen a conversion of the boxed Taskmaster with the shield and a female head quite good, however). Otherwise, unless you plan to play Bakunin, you don't need more than 1-2 Riot Grrrls (both the specialist operative and the MULTI rifle profiles are inexpensive and useful, despite the Frenzy, put the SO carries a blitzen... which is Nonlethal => won't trigger Frenzy).

Thanks to everyone who posted :) I think given the models I have an appreciation for, I will switch from thinking of Vanilla and focus on a Tunguska collection for the New Year!

If anyone has ideas for using the special weapons on Securitate models or Cheerkillers, Grenzers and a Kriza/Perseus Haris, I would be happy to hear from you!

Edit: Not sure how or if I can change the topic from Vanilla to Tunguska ?

Probably better to start a new topic if you want to talk about Tunguska.

Thank you - I might just do that, I just hope I'm not wasting forum space by asking too many questions :)

Don't worry about that too many questions. Better to have things separated for different sectorials
