I like the trade off between the Fiday Options: Ultracheap option: 25pts Tag/HI hunter with boarding shotgun: 26pts Well rounded LI hunter with Shock mines: 27 pts Premium killer with ranged usage: 33pts They all have their uses and have their place. It makes our opponents more unsure what they will have to deal with under that IMP token. Neat.
Yes, yes...this is the way. Had my first game with spicy Djabel tonight. We're only a couple of games into N4 but I've been playing Bahram exclusively. I ran this... Yara link is really good. I like that it's a bunch of mishmashed stuff but each team member plays a role. Of course, that means that casualties mean more than just dropping your BS by 3 or knocking off your 6th sense. In general, the link used the Tac Awareness order and NCO order to do things, while the Asawira hung out waiting for a late game opportunity. TBH I got really lucky with a couple dice rolls, including a Daylami putting two wounds on my opponent's TAG with a lucky Panzer shot. Back to spicy Djabel - the two Fidays each took a flank. Regular Fiday ended up simultaneously trading himself for 3 Alguaciles, while Djabel traded himself for the new Correggidor engineer and a shot at a Brigada in haris. I'll need to play Djabel more to explore his full potential but I've been really impressed with Bahram...Daylami really give them the ability to absorb shock and trade asymmetrically whereas Fidays are, IMO, far more lethal than they were in N3 owing to the 15 order cap - you no longer run into those bad matchups with a shit ton of warbands and skirmishers and few valid targets - and the introduction of a DTW. Shotguns becoming DTWs was, imo, a game changer for our Cypress Hill hash smoking assassins.
Agreed. I plan on using the panzerfaust version in combination with a E/M Mutt. But, if that fails I’ll be swapping him out for a Asawira.
Interesting question...generally alone they fold pretty easily against the usual tricks (close range surprise shot / shooting through smoke / out of range surprise shot) but the presence of Daylami and the threat of a hidden Nadhir lets you support them much better now. If anything he's a really good generalist (active or reactive) and fantastic bait to draw that fireteam into a Flammenspeer template.
So, after all this time i could play with the list @theGricks ! It was Supplies vs USARF. I made some changes and got this list: Change log: - Al Djabel moved to group 2: i wanted to try the BS atk new rule and i wanted more orders to spend. - 1 Fiday 25pts option changed to 27pts option - 1 Farzan(minelayer) changed to 1 Farzan(FO): i needed more specialists for supplies - 1 Fiday 25pts option changed to 1 Ghulam ML and moved to group 2: I wanted another ARO piece inside my link, that way i didn't needed to put my Muyib HRL in ARO duty for the first turn and had 1 extra unit to put my link back to 5-men. - Lt skill moved to Asawira: i had some bad luck with Yara last game and wanted to have a more resilient Lt, since i don't have a CoC. My opponent list was something like this: Game: He won the iniciative and went first. 1° turn: My Link was Ghulam ML+Ghulam NCO+Ghulam Doc+Yara+Muyib, ML on ARO and Muyib guarding a "safe" long side lane to scare the Desperados. I counted some orders and knew that VZ was lurking around. The Table was a lil bit close, so he could move the Desperados and drop smoke touching 2 boxes (Yara was not in ARO duty), moved both Mavericks to grab the objectives and pull it back. Foxtrot tried to grab 1 objective but the Fiday just killed him with a LSG template. He moved the Rosie/UR/Marauder haris, killed the Fiday and retreive the box with Rosie, but without enough orders to retreat. I moved my Daylamis trying to kill the haris and one Maverick, but failed and both went down. Moved Al Djabel near the grunt castle and killed the Minuteman with CC, tried to kill the same maverick, but got a flash pulse crit and failed the BTS roll ("yay" .-. ), one Farzan tried to kill again the haris but armor holds. move the link a bit forward, managing to put the Marauder in dogged, killing one grunt Sniper and FINALLY puts the Maverick uncouscious. 2° turn: My opponent used one Desperado dismounted in CC to kill the Farzan near the haris, the farzan dropped a LSG template and wounded the UR. While he was pulling Rosie and UR back, Nadhir tried to put a template down (UR, Rosie and the Desperado were inside the template), but failed ("yay 2.0" .-.). Grunt(paramedic) shoots Maverick with medkit but he failed the PH roll. A Grunt sniper tries to kill AlDjabel with a pistol but armor holds, the desperado runs back to the bike and manage to kill Al with his assault pistol. The other Farzan moves, kill UR and puts Rosie uncounscious, but fell to a Grunt Sniper ARO. I changed my link to Asawira+Ghulam NCO+Ghulam Doc+Yara+Muyib, using smoke+Yara and Asawira to kill the other Desperado, the warcor, the last Grunt Sniper and the last maverick, i miss calculated his points (I can't believe Desperados are only 6pts now! ) and he was on retreat, ending the game 0 vs 0, since i couldn't reach the boxes... Post game Thoughts: I could won the game if i moved my link first and than moved my Farzan in the last round, since the last sniper would be dead. Got confused a bit with link movement, maybe i could have 1-2 more orders to grab at least one box during the 2° turn if i was cleaver. If i had more luck with some rolls (Nadhir, Al Djabel and Daylamis...) that would be piece of cake, but that happens with dice games. That list is awesome for killing, but lacks specialists. Oh, and that link had so much orders, it was beautiful!
Specops are in so I created a monster that can take a spoon of corona (or a full HMG burst) and survive no problem
I mean, losing a tier of BTS will significantly tone down the ridiculousness, but adding some specialist skill instead can force your opponent to actually worry about this guy in some scenarios.
I missed something checking the Infinity Army, I can't seem to find how to access the Spec Ops unit / options at all, please can someone give me a hint? :)
@sackofowls Not there sadly, however, I have managed to find it thank you! In the list you make at the top left there's a "Spec-Ops" text you can click on which brings another window up for it.
