I am not a huge fan of the military greens and beige of factions too modern and very , and the alternate scheme presented by CB last year around wildfire (https://www.infinitythegame.com/blog/item/749-alternative-color-scheme-for-infinity-troops) was not really Hassassin-y to me fits Ramah more. What do you guys think?
There's basically no limit to the colour schemes you can choose for any army - HB is no exception. Here is my Ghulam NCO (the photo is grainy because it's a thumbnail from a 3D scan for TTS, but you can see the colour scheme).
I think you should find a color scheme that fits your taste. And then paint your Bahram the way you like it. I'm afraid my Hassassins are painted predominately in the dark greens and sand beiges you dislike - but that's the way I like my Bahram. For example, that's how my Lasiq quartet looks like:
As Errhile says, muy haqq's troops wear dark greens and beiges mainly. Sometimes, I used other colour for doing some contraste, like red.
Using a contrasting color (or two) is usually a good idea. Though it looks nowhere like modern military scheme (but military schemes nowadays are made to blend in, not to stand out. Not to look good on a tabletop!). For example, my Bahram uses vibrant green (Valejjo Scorpene Green) - with Lasiqs here, on leg details and Viral gun magazines, as well as orange backpack details, to break the otherwise military-like greens and beiges (the effect made more in-character by disruptively patterned camouflage coats). @BlazyCrane - I'd suggest you use one of the colour wheel tools available online. Start by picking one, maybe two colors you'd really like to see on your models (for a moment let's ignore what army they are), set them on the color wheel tool, and see what would it suggest as supplementary colors you'll use on minor details.
I'm repainting my Haqq and used a white scheme for HB units and black scheme for "vanilla" units ( I don't play Ramah or QK), some REMs are white and some are black, the only expection is my Azrail that are white because i wanted them to contrast with the black Al Fasids. I Don't have a pĂcture of all my models, but there's one to show you that i'm talking about (not the best one although)
My biggest complaint about HB is that if you have any pre-defined color scheme they all tend to blend together and none stand out. You almost need to completely change the color scheme to differentiate the models for untrained eyes. I can't use HB as a demo force because people mix up the models to much. At a glance a Muyib / Farazan / Fiday look similar.
That's true, but it's not that bad since the Farzans and Fidays spend most of their time in marker state anyway. And you can recognize the Muyibs by the surrounding fireteam. That said, I kinda want to vary my colour scheme anyway - doing the whole force in one uniform seems a bit boring and samey. Especially for a faction that's full of irregulars and skirmishers. My tentative plan is to paint my fireteam in one colour scheme (yara, barids, ghulam nco, muyib) and paint the other units to complement it. The idea is that the fireteam is the traditional army force in uniform, and the other guys are the Hassassin spies, sleeper agents, and the like, so they wouldn't be in uniform.
Thank for all the input guys. I wanted to make them a little more stealthy and keeping them distinguishable from normal Haqq colors (Ghulams & Mutts will probably be Haqq colors) was my goal. I have decided to go with a Navy body with Grey Armor scheme I'll post a pic once I finish painting.
I mostly use black and green (two of the main colours of Islam) in combination with some greys, whites or khakis. Here you can see my HB collection, in case you find it useful: https://troglablog.blogspot.com/2020/12/sectorial-terminado-hassassin-bahram.html?showComment=1608668635486#c2887247810615253983
Hello, this is my main colour "haquiss" schema :) red and green with some brown.(I quoted "haquiss" because all the models are hassasin).
