    Hi,

Looking for decals in eBay I came across things like these:

Nail Art Stickers Water Decals Transfers Sweets Lollipops Candy (M+007)

    Or kitties

Nail Art Water Decals Transfers Decoration White Pink Kitten Cat Gel Polish 92

Anyway, the use instructions look quite familiar:

    1. Peel off the clear protection sheet.
    2. Carefully cut off the designs you require.
    3. Soak Decal in water for about 20 seconds.
    4. Use tweezers to pick it up remove back and slide the decal onto your nail.
    5. Relocate the decal to the right position.
    6. Soak up any extra water with kitchen towel.
    7. Seal it with top coat of Clear Nail Varnish.
    8. Put another top coat of Clear Nail Varnish on to make it extra long lasting.

They are relatively cheap. So my question is: has anybody tried these nail art decals for the models?

    Thanks in advance,

Well, the description doesn't sound too different from what you do with decals from model kits like those from revell, tamyia, italery and the like.

I have used those on infinity minis, but you need some rather flat area for the decals to stick to, so I used them on tags and remotes.

    edited for typos

you do know that there are infinity water slide decals for various factions, do you?
antenocities used to make some, and others are from plastcraft I think. it's mostly the unit logos, but for the dog warriors there are something like tribal tattoos going onto their arms, I think

    For non flat, use MicroSet/Sol.

I see them working mostly in buildings, like graffiti (someone obsessed with cats) or ads (sweets shop, eg).

I have plenty of experience using Microset and Microsol (under that brand or others) with decals on non-flat surfaces. I recommend using them even if the surface is flat, because it improves adherence of the decals.

My intention was using those decals not as graffiti, but in vans and so.

So this is additional proof that they can be used safely... well, there is a HUGE number of options avaiable: flowers of all kinds, ice creams, fruits... even bigger flowers that could be used for decorative panels.

Considering how cheap these are i'd suggest getting some and testing them, i for one would love to see this tested more and by more people, because as you say the variety is absurdly big, for very very cheap!

Already purchased, though the results will take some time... sorry, but the damn family and the damn work still get in the middle.

Ok, some pics of the trials:

They behave as the common decals. So this could be the beginning of something wonderful... or a terrible mistake. Who knows.

Second example. Sorry for the van colours, but I have commissioned this work to a friend and he made the final call on that.

These were decals intended for a full nail, so they were cutted and retouched to fit the panels. The Love You name for the flower shop came from other decals sheet.

Maybe with a white delivery van these decals would look even more awesome. But as you can see, the concept has been demonstrated: water decals for nail art can be used to add lettering and logos to vehicles, shops and so.

Just calibrate the size of the decals using the pics; some of them can fit into a mini, others are too big. Good luck!

As you can see you can find even the strangest motifs... By the way, is the same shop I purchased from. Very gentle, so maybe you can ask for a pic with a ruler.
