Hey everyone, With Corvus Belli announcing a Christmas Fat Yuan Yuan is being released this December (seen from a Spanish post from the company on Twitter) I was wondering if there were any other novelty minis you'd like to see. I'd love to see a few more daft ones made. As a Nomad player give me Zoe and Pi-Well as Santa and an elf. Or a chonky Kriza just eating a massive flaming Christmas pud. Or CrazyKoalas that are dressed as the ghosts from A Christmas Carol. Halloween could also be a good time for some spooky minis. What do you all think? Are there any novelty minis you'd like to see on the table?
I'd rather see none of the novelty minis and new "serious" sculpts instead. I don't need any minis that will be out of place on the table 90% of the year.
I'm with Nuada on this. I really don't want to see holiday themed minis from CB. Each one would just feel like effort wasted into models that could have been released in their place. Now if they want to do a limited run of something that will be more usable and not out of place all year. I'm more on board in that direction. I think the HVT models that come in the Dire Foes kits are a pretty solid way to keep more flavorful minis coming out.
Personally I agree that the novelty seasonal minis are a tad pointless. However, an easter bunny Marut could be hilarious.
I don't think one model out of the year that is 'fun' is going to ruin anyone's day. Especially for people who are more interested in the painting side of things, it's not everyday you get to paint a Christmas themed sci-fi miniature! Crazykoala elfs could be fun!
CB can release a pack of a dozen minis one month, a couple 3 packs and a few singles another month, and four TAGs in one month. A holiday mini does not mean something serious got bumped, since CB is staggering their product intentionally. Something fun might even be a nice distraction for them. That said, I'd prefer Easter Bunny peripherals instead of a Marut. CrazyKoala bunnys could also work fine. This is Christmas though, so OBVIOUSLY we need Tohaa Elves. A Krampus CA could work, I could see Shasvaasti or Morat, but there's a lot of options there. A puppetactica elf with a bunch of wide up remotes also cool. I'd also accept one of the various drop troopers stuck in a chimney.
The pope would probably be to high ranking, but a Dire Foes with a Neovatican bishop or Cardinal would be an interesting HVT.
X-Mas-Style Minis I like to see: Yu Jing - Celestial Guard in X-mas dress with Kuang Helper with a rod Pan O - Techbee in Winter-Pin-Up Style on a pile of gifts Nomad - I like the idea in the opening post Haq - uh wait ... they not want this, I guess? Ariadna - A Wulfer as Santa Aleph - Sopho as a Christ Child JSA - Kempetai in X-Mas-Manga-Style
Fantasy versions of Infinity characters or units (that didn't already get one from Aristeia). Chinese New Year themed Sun Tze (Year of the Ox Sun Tze?) More catgirl (or animal girl) Nomads. Some armory or whatever lets me get my hands on Chain Rifles to do weapon swaps with. A box set of nothing but tactical rocks and scenic rubble.
They removed that one from sale... maybe we are back in Kansas, Toto. In the past I read comments saying it was not done because there was no market... wish granted after many years, it would be silly now that you can 3D print the weapons. 1. Ignore demands for product. 2. Easy access to machines. 3. Profit. Alternative if you want a small challenge: Oyumaru and Milliput. Maybe I start to get your drift now.
I’d just like some street clothes versions of some of the characters. Open to interpretation, but ideally looking like they’re in the middle of some interesting story beat. Achilles in just a towel with a sword, posed like he’s stalking an intruder in his quarters. Krit in coveralls dressed like he’s at work in a repair bay, hefting a rifle. Patsy in evening formalwear and pointing a pistol. Basically, “I planned to have a normal day off, and now I’m in a firefight.”
@wes-o-matic Senor Massacre, exactly the same as normal, but wearing a bow tie. That is his formal wear, honest!
