Hey Guys and Girls, I was playing around with the Army tool and came to this List: aQAFVGVzdDSBLAIBCQEBAQoAAgEBAQADAQEBAAQBAQkABTABBgAGhMkBAQAHMAECAAgPAQMACQ0BAwACBgGEvgEDAAITAQEAAxEBAQAEhMYBAQAFhMYBAQAGDQEFAA== The idea is, to habe a solid Defense, 3 Different attack vectors (Echo Bravo, Sierra and the Harris of patsy, kamau hmg and Maschinist) and a delivery system of specialists (Harris). Do you think, 3 Models off the Board are too much? Any comments for improvement are welcome :)
I think it's a solid enough N3 list, but needs to bear the N4 meta in mind. I just don't know if it has what's needed to slow down / take down the heavy metal we see in N4. The Kamau Sniper is no longer any kind of threat to a TAG or Heavy Infantry due to the loss of Stun, so most opponents will have no problem tanking the Damage 15 hits with heavy armor until the Kamau goes down. The Croc Sniper does add some "gotcha" potential though, so try it out and let us know how it goes. I've been leaning more on Kamau MSR, ORC Fuerbach, Fusilier Hackers, Peacemaker for my N4 VIRD defense, but I'd like to hear how it goes with the units you've chosen. Some thoughts: The Croc Man Minelayer's an interesting one. I'm still trying to figure out if I love or hate that profile. Part of me thinks he's just slightly too expensive for a mine and a boarding shotgun template, but I also like the pairing of mine and shotgun on other infiltrators, so we'll see. Let us know how it works out for you. Helots, hmm. I'd probably ditch the Helots entirely in favor of something that brings orders. I think they're dead for general purpose lists, unless you're running something like a Cutter that is worth focusing a defense heavily around. Tac awareness batters VIRD very badly, the defensive style they were designed for has been nerfed into the ground, and so I think it's important to ditch any unit that stands around and makes zero active-turn contribution. Unfortunately, Helots fall into that category. One unit that would be useful for any list is the Pathfinder (I think Sensor and a speedy Specialist is critical) and either a second Fugazi, or scrounge points for a Peacemaker. The Peacemaker does a lot of what the croc man Minelayer does here, but with the downside of being visible and hackable. I think the Sierra's in a tough spot too, without supportware, and with a Machinist who is going to be running around with a Haris rather than staying near to support. I think that's a unit that could be traded out.
Hey, Thank you for taking the time :) I see the reasons for your Argumentation. I will Test the List and keep your input for further adjustments ;)
This is an excellent attitude. If you hold onto it and give any list a few games before adjustment then you will do well.
