    In the mission Firefight:
If the oponents Lt. is unc. during his tactical phase, my oponent announces a new one.
But does this (unc. LT) count to 'number of Lt. killed' for the objective points?
RAW i don't think so, because i didn't kill the Lt. (per definition of the mission)

    Official answer from Koni has been; this trooper counts as killed LT as long as;
    a) The LT was put into UNC while still LT
    and
    b) they have remained UNC until the end of the game

If anyone heals them and you put them down again, they will not count.

Thank you. So an Asawira with regeneration is a strong choice for this mission

That's a weird loop to take out your enemy's points with little effort

Hmm? Could you explain? You can always actually kill the target to avoid giving your opponent the chance to use Doctor skill. Or kill their Doctors/Paramedics

I mean, taking a Lt is a high demanding achievement. It takes a lot of work to take the Lt down, risking troops spending orders and having the right alignment of luck. to be able to take that out from your opponent on a normal roll that can be repeated via command tokens is huge. Plus the healing prevents that troop form counting if incapacitated again towards the final point count. passing the burden to the next dicicult target.

I think that ruling gives too much impact to the doctor skill. I think it's fine to be able of taking out some points, but if the troop was a Lt any time during the game and ends up unconscious or dead at the end of the game, should count towards the final score. This missions are about protecting some troops, not about who heals more Lts passing the hot potatto for longer

So... you'd prefer LT to be a plague that makes you a target vector even if you use the mechanics to recover from it? Remember that your opponent will have an LT. Either this LT is the same if you down them in ARO, or it's a new one.

While I agree that killing an LT is a tall order, if you're actually in a decent position to do it and not just trying a long range snipe, then making sure they're Dead should be easier than them making a Doctor roll (unless they're Haqq)

Why isn't it for simplicity like:"If you put a Lt. im the unc. or dead state while he is Lt. it counts as kill!"?

Because that would make healing an unconscious model bad, and people would probably complain even more about:
    • LT goes unconscious, scoring a “kill”
    • LT heals to 1
    • LT goes unconscious, scoring another “kill”
So you get credit for dead (because no one recovers from that) and unconscious at the end of the game (because both sides had their chances).

    But for example.
Put a Lt. Unc in your first turn.
Enemy starts in LoL and announces a new one, heals old Lt.
Now killing the first would not be counted as kill, because he was heald, and wasn't Lt at the time of the kill

    Exactly.

The attacking player failed to score a decisive point. The objective is to kill the LT, so if you leave it to the timer to do it for you, you need to be prepared to have the potential points taken away from you.

What it comes down to, I think is a combination of factors:
    • It would feel unfair if you didn't get any credit at all for a Lt being unconscious at the end of the game.
    • If you can heal an unconscious model and prevent it from being counted that way, it gives you a reason to take doctors/automedkits/etc.
    • Keeping track of the "Scarlet L" if an ex-Lt does get better would be sort of annoying.
so it ends up where it is:
    • If you kill the Lt while it's Lt, you get credit for it.
    • If it goes unconscious while it's Lt, you get credit for it as long as it doesn't recover during the game.
I mean, if you're just going by 'Would this make the scenario simpler?', "Knocked out isn't dead" (so you don't get credit at all for a Lt that's just unconscious) would be a simpler scenario.

There's also the profit of not creating the slapstick scene of when they knock out your LT (1VP!), you heal him, he pops up (Prone is cancelled), gets shot with ARO (2VP), you heal him again, 3VP! ;)

But what happens if you got CoC?

The Lt. Becomes unc. in one order.
CoC kicks in and the opponent got a new Lt.
Next order you kill the former Lt. No VP for you.
    Is this correct?

Previous edition I think CoC had language that had it trigger prior to mission condition kicking in, but I'm not seeing it atm as they are both "when (..) enters". It shouldn't matter if CoC removes LT from the downed LT, all that should matter is whether it removes LT from them before or after they count as being Unconscious.

I think maybe @Koni will have to answer this one.

In my opinion It doesn't matter, because at the moment you KILL him (second order) he is no longer Lt.
And at the end of the game he is not unc.
