found the sliding with a HRL pose a little ridiculous. So now this lovely lady is sliding with a shotgun while carrying the HRl on her back. Got a second Wu ming with HMG, but wanted a different pose, so here he is. Daofei with multirifle. might give him a hacker visor or leave him as he is and play him as hacker or not.
Another instance of 'does it count as a conversion if it's greenstuff and wire?' I play Onyx, I love the sphinx profile, but not the mini, and I wasn't a huge fan of the new render. That life the 'make it yourself' option: An Onyx themed Sphinx.
Since the HMG Daofei isn´t anymore i asked myself what to do with the superfluous miniature... So i thought i could do one of the missing profiles. So here he is the Boarding shotgun Daofei. (a big thanks to my domaru butai for the BSG! Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.) Now i had a HMG laying around and i asked myself what to do with that: Well a Zhanying with HMG of course!
The hulang is good... THE HULANG IS GOOD! I really wanted to convert a female hulang smg loadout to contrast the stock mini. Any suggestions as to what mini I can rip a part for it? The big thing is I'm trying to source the yu jing armor as it's rather difficult to find an exact match.
Only good current YJ female armor are the female Zuyongs and TaiShen. Getting one of the female Zuyongs and getting the female Domaru sword armos would be interesting, I believe.
They are nicely designed. Though not all of the other female HI are bad. I guess it would come down to the person's opinion/perspective of the other factions' suits.
I think you are missing the point, they are plenty of good female armors, I agree (Brigadas being my favorite). But he is asking about YuJing female armors, the only ones in the IA aesthetic for a Hulang conversion are the female Zuyong from the Starter. I guess you can also consider the female WuMing, but their armor is quite characteristic to that unit, so... if you want to convert a female Hulang and make it look like part of the Invincible Army, the only good YJ armor for that is a Zuyong female. For lack of options really (they are quite good anyway sculpt-wise).
@Willen You're right. I did misunderstand. I didn't realize how limited in choice Yu Jing has for female HI conversions/proxies from their own model/faction line. And going with another faction would require alot of work to get the different design to fit in. Unless the person was completely using non-Yu Jingese HI minis for aesthetic reasons.
I just wish the Hulang design was a tiny bit more oriental. A ponytail or a Kung Lao hat would have gone a long way. Anyway, if you were able to stand the female wu ming up on one foot hand put a monstrous makings smg in each hand you might end up with an exciting combat pose. @Fed4ykin recently showed how good weapon swaps can work for this model.

Yeah, they're how she attaches to the base. In the original configuration, each leg is connected all the way down to the base via the weird wispy/smoky/whatever things. I had to do a fair amount of cutting and filing to remove them, but fortunately most of it is on the underside of the model, so you can't see much of the damage without picking it up and turning it over. However, I was able to score matching lines with one of my files so that the basic structure of the woven fraacta armor is still preserved. I did have to make new cleats for the outside of her right boot using tiny dots of greenstuff. I mounted her to the base via a pin through her left foot. I ran the pin most of the way up her calf to reduce the likelihood of a broken ankle in the future. I also built up around the area a bit with greenstuff, both behind her toe and under the base. The series of small green dots on the base are patches for holes I made trying to get the angle of the pin just right.
It would probably be easier to see the details of the work if I had primed it, but it's raining today.
Just in case someone wants a simpler conversion: IMO the extra chunk in the left leg is the part helping, the tentacles/plants in the right leg are not so important for support and the most confusing visually. Maybe adjust the angle a bit (add more tacticrap as shim) so the weight is more centered over the support point.
I have started painting my second batch of O-12, and I have some minor conversions there. I think the shorted BSG's works quite nice as SMG's.

I had passed over the wu ming hrl. Seeing these Im totally sold on it for my hu lang smg. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I might go with those legs and try and put a domaru torso on it.
O12 Raptor Boarding Squad with Spitfire. Human is converted from the Beyond Kaldstrom Shang Ji, with Guijia baby-carrier arms and a Spitfire from the Aleph Spec Ops blister. The right arm had to be sliced up and reposed in order to look decent. Devabot is straight up the Alpha robot buddy, I’m going to replace the LSG with an HFT when i find an appropriate bit. Very happy with this one and I can’t wait to see him put in work on the table.
