Anyone know where I can get some 3D printer files that would be good for infinity? I’ve recently ordered an Anycubic Photon Mono SE, so I’m hoping I can find some good stuff to print on it when it arrives. thanks for your help Ash
Hey there! Well, if you're gonna be modding your minis, you may want to change the guns, and I think your printer will be good for printing such detailed objects so why not give them a go? MonstrousMakings have been uploading designs to thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/monstrousmakings/designs Painting LOF markings can be a pain in the arse if your base isn't naturally supporting it, I can personally recommend this design which even my crummy extrusion printer printed without problems: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2267335 You know those russian dolls? What if instead of a doll or Gorbachev or other some such, what if silhouettes? Now, I can't find my friend's design which is really nifty, but I can find a similar thing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:642317 Going by results on Yeggi, Thingiverse is still the place to look for wargaming stuff and you'll find a bunch of useful stuff there such as garbage containers, freight containers, benches, planters, etc https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:499950 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2764832 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3328758 Just a reminder that not everything will be suitable to print and some designs will be both better and cheaper simply buying from CB's partners (I'm thinking of the planters atm), but do try stuff out and enjoy your new toy!
@Mahtamori The link to the files for marking LoF on bases is going to be extremely helpful, thank you!
Topo Solitario has some free Infinity & Aristeia stuff on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/toposolitario/designs If you don't mind some WH40k spice, then: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4597886 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4593586 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4231508 Those also belong to the wh40k group in thingiverse, there might be more scenery. DrivetrhoughRPG has a 3d print section too. Also, https://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/product-category/stl-3dprint/ from the Atenocitis STL shop. They seem to have a sale atm (dunno if it's a real sale, or stuff that is on sale 24/7, though); the Roc Dropshit for Haqquislam seems a little too big for your printer (I though you had a Mono X for a second...), however. Finally, leaving aside Patreon or Kickstarter, there are several Telegram channels in which people share STLs, like presupported files. While most of the scenery I've seen is for fantasy, some users have been making Star Wars props and stuff. Papsikels has a Patreon with cyberpunk-esque models, and all months a few scatter terrain pieces come for printing. I'd suggest you to get familiar with the following, if not already so: Your printer's community Telegram Channel; I have a Photon S and it has been a great help. Chitubox, Prusa Slicer (for autosupports, usually better than Chitubox', even if those have improved), Photon File Validator and Windows' 3D Builder (use the windows shop). All are free, and relatively easy to use. Hollowing models and making the draining holes. 3dPrintingPro's Youtube Channel: great advice, and I think the guy makes the supports for the Raging Heroes' STL Patreon (heroes infinite); I find this important because those models are exceedingly complicated to print.
Interesting, because lately I have found an excellent printing service, not very expensive, and I have been compiling a list of free files: Some flying things: Elysium shuttle https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3073156 Scifi container transporter https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4380868 Terminator Hunter Killer https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:24349 Terminator Spider Tank https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4260644 Cyberdyne Terminator Hunter Killer https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3296772 Masamune drone https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4576574 Alien Dropship Kitbash https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4289935 Type-6 D Part (Elite Dangerous) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3365219 XCOM 2 Skyranger https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1657500 Orca Assault Craft https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3330993 Troop Transport https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2978004 Some land things: Track-R quad https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4243083 Vecta type0 Takemikazuchi https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1652824 Mech spider https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2809504 Hanka Robotics T08A2 Assault Tank GIST https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3007651 Motorcycle https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3582279 Forklift https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3682241 FWW Turret https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3201217 Montaraz (already mentioned) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2422452 Urban things: Panoply https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4545167 Terminal objective https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2552113 Benches https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2613324 Dumpster https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3760350 Vertical axis wind turbine https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4210042 Med/Lab bed https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4229831 Bus Shelter https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3839519 Game robot food stand https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1645528 Game hex outdoor table https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1645534 Subway entrance https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3846322 Stacking server frames https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3165849 Lockers https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4326761 Bar tables https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2770279 Restaurant booth https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2776763 Coffee bar https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2770100 Cryo pod https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4515382 Holo desk https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3579469 Sci Fi Modular Housing Unit / Building https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3501697
Even if you do not want to print big pieces, it is excellent for small bits: weapons, tires, seats... but you need a really good resolution, so SLA looks to me like the technique most suited for that. So far, the pieces I have commisioned are incredible. Very soon I will post the results. The usual FDM can be ok for big pieces, but small details are really tricky.
