    Hi all,

As I promised a week ago, some pics of a modular system of pipes for my industrial terrain.

    [IMG]The set

    [IMG]Arch

This way I can pass the pipes from one side of the table to the other, keeping a road or similar in the middle. As you can see, tall enough to allow vans and trucks.

    [IMG]Assembled

As you can see, the small buildings I was setting up with those clear containers have been adapted to receive the pipes.

    [IMG]Building, arch and pipes

    Example of a simple assembly

    [IMG]Buildings with both pipes

The buildings can be connected with both the thin and wide pipes.

The small piece allows to make a 90º turn.

The materials: mostly commercial PS card, tubing and pipe elbows from GreenStuff, with some Lego pieces in the mix (yes, they are glued; I am the kind of guy that uses glue on Lego pieces). The buildings are empy clear containers from old toys and so. And assorted bits.

Now all that remains is painting them...

  2. As usual, great scenery.
What are the pipes and elbows (edit: I don't know if it's the correct word) made of?

No idea if it is the proper word, but this the site

There are bigger pieces; for the 6 mm pieces, you use the 5 mm tube and so on. They have pieces of 7, 9 and 16 mm also. I used one bag of pieces for the whole set.

While that's not bad at all, it's quite overpriced. Go to your nearest party flavors store and see if they carry these connectable party straws (or look them up on the internet), they make decent replacements for about half the price (or possibly lower, not sure)

This deserves some comments: a) yes, it is overpriced. They are really expensive b) I was not sure about the material of the party straws, and I am a fan of PS and ABS. I hate PP with passion, and for I wanted to do I needed a plastic that I can cut, sand and glue with some safety. c) hey, this is not the cheap thread!

Honestly, somebody should start that thread about Getting Cheap Bits for Scenery...

Some more details of the painted pieces:

The big pipes. These pieces should provide a good degree of cover. In theory they could crawl under the pipes, unless as with vehicles you consider that the pipe blocks everything from ground up to the top.

A small 90° connector piece so the pipes are not too linear (or so I hope)
