It would seem that smoke is no longer a special type of dodge and rather a type of attack. If an enemy walks into your zone of control, but you don't have LOS, it reads as if you're only aro is dodge at - 3 or reset. Just want to confirm that you are not able to throw smoke as you do not have line of sight. As per page 23 in the rule pdf "Performing an Attack with a weapon with Smoke Ammunition allows the user to make a Face to Face Roll against all enemy Attacks that require a Roll and LoF, and whose LoF passes through the Zero Visibility Zone generated by the Smoke Template"
Right, you don't meet the requirements to declare the skill, so you cannot throw Smoke. It's a BS Attack (which uses PH, due to the 'Throwing Weapon' trait), so you'll need line of sight. As a side note, the interaction last edition, with the 'Special Dodge' trait, would have worked the same way, because you're declaring "BS Attack".
