    Hello guys,

    It's not really a question, but rather a suggestion. I don't have many issues with the new rules, they're mostly very refined. However, I find the whole ammo type + saving roll type thing a bit confusing.

    The thing in question is how do you determine the number of saving rolls from combined ammo RAW?

    I was explained that, for instance, E/M+normal (can be found on E/M CCW) results in 2 saving rolls with half BTS or AP+DA results in 2 saving rolls with half ARM or BTS. I agree with this, and that makes sense. However, the only example that confirms it is

    "An Impact with AP+DA Ammunition forces the target to perform two Saving Rolls (due to the DA Ammunition) with the ARM or BTS Attribute halved (due to the AP Ammunition)."

    At the same time AP roll section says:

    "After a successful attack using AP Ammunition, the target must make a Saving Roll per impact suffered, using half his ARM or BTS value (ARM/2 or BTS/2) as specified by the weapon being used. "

    and DA roll section says:

    "After a successful attack using DA Ammunition, the target must make two Saving Rolls per impact suffered "

    Without reading the example, I would assume that AP+DA should force you to perform 3 rolls total - at least that's what I read if I combine both wordings (forces to.... must). But it's 2 rolls. Simlarly, E/M + normal are two rolls, EXP+AP are 3 rolls, etc. So, by design intention we combine the effects (as written in the rules) but not the rolls number (as seen from AP+DA example) when using combined ammo.

    Unless I'm missing something, the problem is that it's not explicitly worded in the rules that we only combine the effects, and:

    a). Either we take the highest number of rolls from ONE type of ammo;
    b). Some other formal logic I fail to see.

    So, it's not a big deal, and of course I'm not going to claim one should roll 3 saves after E/M + Normal impact, but I think it could be a good QoL change if it was explicitly reflected in the rules.

    If these concerns are valid (maybe they're not? then please explain what did I miss), I hope CB could address them by a simple clarification.

    Thank you!

    This is a difficult thing to describe because the ammunitions themselves are written to be as clear as possible for the most common case - which is a single ammo type without combinations.

    Both Double Action and E/M specifies that you make two saving throws. This will over-write, not add, to the effect of AP's one saving throw, as there is no arithmetic involved.

    I agree that as common as combined ammo is that it would be more ideal that the effect of ammo should assume a saving throw is made from the hit, meaning the effect of Double Action and E/M would be "an additional saving throw" while AP to be "the target of the attack's ARM/BTS value is halved"
