Well, LGL is 3 BS better at 16-24 than it used to be at that range which they could consider more reasonable, plus Spotlight/targeted received like double or even triple buff (I have to double/triple check that though) outside of Spec.Fire, making its presence more realistic as well. By that logic, spec.fire stayed where it was number-wise (I empathise again that we aren't talking about dream scenarios), but gained in range flexibility. And I don't think Spec.Fire was intended to become much better after all those horror tales people tell about N2 or so. Of course, some things now also dodge better, so there's that.
I was looking through army again, and while I haven’t built anything approaching proper lists yet, I have noticed that our ability to deploy marker state troops outside of our deployment zone is silly. 2 Nadhir, 3 Farzan, 5 Daylami, 2 Fiday. Then you throw 2 Shujae and a Fireteam lead by Yara into the mix. There’s also Yasbir and Djebel. I’m positive you could make a competitive 15 order list where no one starts in the DZ and at least half of which start as markers.
That's been my experience. My last few games had exactly one troop starting in the DZ, and it was the leftover unit I used to fill the last slot after I'd put in everything I wanted. Group 1 is 3 Fidays, a Farzan CoC, the Yara fireteam, and the one guy left behind. Group 2 is Daylamis and Nadhirs. The only reason the one last guy has to start in the DZ is that the points don't work to put another Farzan in there. I wind up with too many wasted points. The left-behind guy ends up being an Asawira, Ayyar, or Shakush. It's pretty fun starting the game with half your army covering the enemy DZ at close to medium range. That said, the Yara team doesn't start very far up, and in practice usually some of them end up in the DZ just because of fireteam positioning.
Currently I'm doing Yara (Strat Dep. profile), Barid HD, Barid KHD, Ghulam NCO, and Muyib HRL. But there are so many units that want to be in that team, it's really pick-and-choose. There would be plenty of other viable builds. To my mind, the only essential element is smoke, because the whole point of the team is to operate behind a smokescreen. Even then, you have a choice between Ghulam and Muyib for smoke. I like the Ghulam because of the NCO order. (And I like the Muyib HRL for the Tac Awareness order). Even Yara herself isn't essential if you don't mind losing forward deployment. It would seem silly not to put MSV in the team given all the smoke, but if you replace the Ghulam with Muyib smoke, then you could replace Yara with a Govad HMG. The appeal of that option will partially depend on the answer to the currently pending rules question "does a unit with both MSV1 and Sixth Sense suffer a -6 penalty when shooting through smoke?"
Yeah, the HD should in theory be great against all attackers thanks to the Spotlight changes. And the KHD to defend him, and to opportunistically murder hackers generally. That said, the main reason they're both in the link is because of the pitchers. The link will be moving into the midfield, so they should be able to deploy repeaters in better spots than if they stayed in the DZ. B2 means half the orders to deploy repeaters. And I like them both in there because I roll so many 19s and 20s on my pitcher shots, so I want the Disposable(4). (A secondary benefit to having the HD in the link is that Sixth Sense lets him ARO hack Stealthy attackers through those repeaters. Which currently doesn't matter since, RAW, Stealth doesn't work through repeaters anyway. But it seems likely to be FAQed). They're also specialists so they grab objectives, though of course lots of the other candidates can do that too. Finally, they're among the cheapest options for the link. Keeping the link cheap lets me spend points on a strong second attack vector like an Asawira. Of course, an Asawira would also be perfectly happy inside the link, but I like the option to put the link on one flank and the Asawira on the other. That said, I could see leaving the HD safely in the DZ and only putting the KHD in the link. Or replacing them both with an e/m mine unit.
Still unanswered, then. The relevant thread is here, discussing the reasons why that bullet point may or may not have the meaning you suggest, and ending with ijw saying that Hellois will need to rule on it: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/msv1-sixth-sense-firing-through-smoke-n4.37749/
Guys this has been really useful as a new player just learning about FireTeams and having never played beyond Vanilla Haqq. This is likely me missing something but what is the difference between a Haris team and a Triad? Is is simply that I can have more than one Triad on the table at once?
This has a lot of the stuff you've discussed. Please pick holes in it! The Engineer is in here as the guy I play against loved ADHL ammo in N3 so figure he'll still bring PARA ammo even though it's not quite as awful as it was! Also its another button pusher. Thanks in advance! gZIQaGFzc2Fzc2luLWJhaHJhbQdIQiAxIC0ggSwCAQoAgTgBAQAAgTgBAQAAgU8BAQAAhgwBAgAAgS0BDgAAgVEBAQAAgVEBAgAAgUcBBgAAgUwBAgAAgToBAQACBACBSQEKAACBRwEHAACBQwEGAACBQwEGAA==
Looks good! I'd suggest replacing the Muyib doctor with a Ghulam doctor. The Ghulam doctors just as well as the Muyib, for a fraction of the price. The Muyib has better combat stats and a panzerfaust, but you don't want your doctor to be fighting. With some of the points saved, I'd add a Nasmat or two so that your doctor can cover more of the table.
A bit off topic, but is the bs attack of Al'Jabel really continuous damage? Or is it a joke? Gesendet von meinem ASUS_I01WD mit Tapatalk
I guess here is the right place to share my ideas for my thoughts. The list is supposed to be tailored to the mission firefight (+3 for combat jump). gZIADEZpcmVmaWdodCBWMYEsAgEKAYE4AQMAAoE4AQMAA4EzAQQABIFHAQYABYYMAQIABoFJAQoAB4EtAQ4ACIFRAQIACYFRAQEACoE+AQEAAgYBgU4BAgACgS0BCAADgU0BAQAEhgkBAwAFgUMBBgAGgUMBBgA= Please share your thoughts with me.
