For reference, here's the Kosuil in N3: KOSUIL Engineer Boarding Shotgun, D-Charges, Panzerfaust / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24) KOSUIL Engineer K1 Combi Rifle, D-Charges, Nullifier / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 29) KOSUIL Minelayer K1 Combi Rifle, D-Charges, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 25) And here's the Kosuil in N4: KOSUIL Engineer Boarding Shotgun, Panzerfaust | Gizmokit / D-Charges, Pistol, CCW. (0 | 25) KOSUIL Engineer K1 Combi Rifle, AP Mines | Gizmokit / D-Charges, Pistol, CCW. (0 | 29) KOSUIL Minelayer K1 Combi Rifle, Shock Mines / D-Charges, Pistol, CCW. (0 | 26) The Boarding Shotgun profile is the same, minus the SWC tax for the Panzerfaust. The cost went up by a point because of the game-wide Shotgun cost changes. The K1 Combi Engineer swapped his Nullifier for AP Mines, due to the gamewide removal of the Nullifier. AP Mines are still fairly rare in the game. PanOceania's Karhu, Yu Jing's Engineer character and the Yaofang Long Ya, Ariadna's Marauders and Tankhunters, Nomad's Sombras and Evaders, Combined Army's Kurgats, and Spiral Corps' (and ostensibly Tohaa's) Kosuil and Chaksa Longarms are all of the profiles in the game with AP Mines. The Minelayer has undergone the least changes, with the only difference being the 1 point increase in cost. The statline of the Kosuil has also undergone a number of changes, ranging from very big to very small. Major Changes: The Kosuil no longer has Bioimmunity, but instead has Shock Immunity. Minor Changes: The Kosuil's WIP no longer drops by 1 point when he loses Symbiont Armor (or undergoes Transmutation in N4 terms). The Kosuil's PH drops by 1 point when he loses Symbiont Armor. The Kosuil received a 1 point CC buff. The Kosuil is now Medium Infantry. Questions I have / points of discussion are: 1) How did this unit fit into your listbuilding in N3? 2) How do you expect to see that change based on changes in N4? 3) What are some Triad compositions with the Kosuil you would like to play? 4) What makes the Kosuil better/worse than competitors for the same types of things that it does?
My singular pull at the moment to take them would be K1 access if not for the Reex. Only ever took them in Tohaa in N3, before what Sukeuls were up to clicked for me. If I want a resilient specialist it's going to be the Draal pretty much every time, unless something requires engineers heavily. Great models though.
He was 4-4 for long, as far as I remember. He was some kind of backup frontline specialist, with nullifier to cover Neema from hackers or with boarding to have some close range BS option in link and occasional panzer shoots. Missing nullifier is...upsetting. But K1 seems now D13 (maybe bug and will be fixed back to 12) Something stupid like Draal + Kosuil + Something like Kriigel or Tri-Core Taagma, still thinking about it. Or trying to use him as second frontline Triad leader, in case first fails or table control. Actually didnt change much to me from N3, but have to look how opponent's changes. Kosuil: - Second best symbiobomb bearer after Neema - Still tough specialist - He has badass lore
Using this unit on my rosters during N3 was to complement the deployment, as I like to play with a minimum of 4 camo tokens, 2 mines, and 2 helots N4... we will see, that K1 has been always sweet
As much as I'd love a reason to, I don't think I will be blowing the dust off my two painted Kosuil this edition either. They need a niche pheroware to go with all those pipes on the model.
Any Tohaa with Pheroware tactics is better, hehehehehe, 100% true But, still usefull, at the end of the day, Kosuil stills have 2 Wounds and K1, and can be part of a Tricore, maybe not the best profile, but can do good job!
Targeted and IMM can now be cleared by an engineer, so he can be used to strip these states after they've been applied by a Hacker.
I like the idea of being able to keep an Engineer up with my Triads if they get IMM'd or Targeted. The Monstrucker is useful but Triads are order efficient and my Kumotail always gets squished early by rambo so I tend to not rely on it.
New isolated state is a lot more punishing in N4 having an Engineer at hand it's better than trying to reset, but where to Kosuil really shine for me it's the minelayer profile.starting with a mine on the field for 0 SWC it's really good, if the minelayer can put out a fight even better. At 26 point the kosuil it's a good triad memeber thanks to his 2 Wounds and the K1 could be usefull for an army that sometimes lack in pure raw power.
And minelayer without a SWC taxe allowes you to hide your helots ^^ I only wish he was paramedic too :D
I might have misunderstood what you meant, but a helot will never be confused with a mine. A mine has mimetism -3; a helot has no mimetism.
