They've dropped some seriously huge hints that the next Operation & Beyond boxes will be Corregidor vs Kosmoflot. Release date is almost certainly to coincide with Adepticon in March.
Very curious how they gonna release all the other new minis for CJC though. The Code One 2 player box will probably feature the new Alguaciles sculpts, an Evader/Sombra or both as well as a new Wildcat. I doubt that Morans will be in Code One though and at least Evaders should get a 3 mini + TinBot box. Same with the new Wildcats. The Vostok also doesn't really fit in the C1 release model. I'm saying there is a chance that we see some of that stuff even before march.
With only 2 C1 factions next year there are going to be a lot more release slots for N4-only products.
looking how TJC and past releases went... expect something in the likes of: vostok in the beyond box, with an eva and a character (maybe a new Carlota, maybe Wolfgang, maybe... jazz, maybe...) 3 alguacile (because there are not enought alguacile sculpts), mostly with a new aesthetic (space alguaciles!) 1 eva, maybe a spitfire one 1 hellcat (because there are not enought hellcat sculpts) 1 new moran that way, the person that wants to get 2 morans need 2 boxes and so. But there is also the possibility to be a mix of the sectorials, no a corregidor box so, no moran but a zero, no eva but a grenzer, no hellcat but a moira... who knows?
Why wouldn't we expect a more-or-less repeat of the old CJC box in the new CJC-Kosmoflot 2-player box? This is about what I'd expect: - 3x Wildcats, probably 2 combi+LFT and 1 hacker (also combi+LFT) - 1x Evader (unsure what weapon we get; hoping for AP Spitfire because SWC weapons often show up here but with my luck it will be the multi) - 1x Hellcat (they do so *love* drop troops, and I predict the hacker so they can completely retire the HMG/hacker/BSG sculpts) - 1x Sombra (covers camo troop and new hotness, could see any of the weapon options really) Agreed that we'd see the Vostok in the "Beyond" box. Sombra could end up here too, because they don't often like putting a drop troop and a camo troop in the basic box. In which case... I'm not really sure what replaces it. Also agree we see a character like Carlota or Mr. Wolf in Beyond. I doubt we'll see a Moran in the starter because they won't want to put 2x Crazy Koalas in it.
What is it, 6 units normally? I'm guessing 3 Alguacilles, Sombra, Evader, but I'm not sure about the last one. Maybe even a second Evader, possibly Hellcat. The Sombra will be the one with a red fury, evaders will have a BSG or MULTI so they don't interfere with the SWC box. If I were them with their goals, I would minimize the new troops in the box, that way people will end up buying more to get the troops.
@loricus, any particular reason why you think Algs over Wildcats? Seems like they intend Wildcats to be a bit more of a standard line troop in CJC than Grenzers are in TJC, and they fit the "space" them better. But I'm also open to the idea of new Alg sculpts. @colbrook, doh! Yep, it'll be seven profiles. Maybe we will see a Sombra and a Hellcat together. Or maybe they'll drop a new Tomcat? Hard to tell because the current Tomcat box is half up to modern standards and half not, which puts in in a weird place. Best guesses, again: - 3x Wildcats or Algs (one of the two should be a given) - 1x Evader (I have a feeling @loricus is right and it will probably be the multi) - 1x Sombra (red fury makes sense) - 1x Hellcat (sticking by hacker) - 1x Intruder (SMMR/KHD) (because the other two Intruders are available elsewhere and I have a feeling they'll want to make a hacker model) Or are two camo troopers and a drop troop too much to think will come together? Evaders will then get an AP Spitfire/Feuerbach/BSG/tinbot box. Hellcats will get another blister because they love drop troops (remake BSG or sculpt paramedic?). Sombras will take forever to get an alternate and it will be the hacker. Wildcats will get a SWC box, contents TBD based on the starter's line troops. Zond, Daktari, and Clockmaker can probably expect rescults on the way too. Anything else I've missed? Oh, yes. MORANS. Pretty please, CB. Pretty please.
I'd say the chances of it being 3xAlguaciles is very high considering the recent new concepts and artwork previewed for them.
I forgot they did a new concept for them. Dang it, I was hopeful we'd actually get multiple Wildcat combi sculpts. Oh well, new Algs will be cool too.
Morans are said to be getting a resculpt. When, we don't really know. I'm also kinda expecting it to be Algs in the C1 box. I'm guessing Wildcats are going to be an SWC box plus maybe a single wc in the C1 or the beyond. That way it's combi, shotgun, spitfire, hacker, rocket minis can be put in, covers the profiles.
Yea, we only *need* 5 Wildcat sculpts, like you said. I'm the odd man out here who plans to actually run multiple Wildcats after the update so I was hoping for 2-3 basic combi sculpts like we had in the old starter. I suppose I'll just get on some conversion work once they release then. Maybe we'll see the Wildcat hacker or one of the two SWC models in the starter box then, and 4 in a SWC box later. I've heard Morans will be resulpted, but I am both an impatient and wary man.
I'm going to bet on 3 Alguaciles, 1 Wildcat, 1 Evader, 1 Intruder/Sombra, Hellcat. Then the Beyond box having an Moran, Carlota, and Intruder/Sombra. Then they will release a Wildcat SWC box, an Evader SWC box, Alg SWC box, Vostok box with 2 models (1 ML, 1 RF, 1 Mk12 weapon option so you need 2 boxes for WYSIWYG), and a Tomcat box as well, since those are pretty old. Those are my guesses to maximize extra boxes they can sell.
Isn't that too many Intruders? Or do you think they're going to do a complete re-release of Icestorm and Beyond Icestorm after they've split it into an action pack?
Might not see an Intruder at all with two of them already in production. Or the current Action Pack might get discontinued and the non-Alguacile models put into Boosters, which would include the Intruder Sniper.
Oops, had to edit. I meant that you'll get one or the other in one box, and the other in the Beyond box. So between the two 1 Intruder and 1 Sombra, but I'm not sure in which order. Realized I put that in twice and forgot my Moran. It's what I get for reading work emails while typing responses.
Man, I hope you're wrong. I have over a dozen unique Aguacil models and they're almost all decent sculpts. I can't wait to replace my old tiny wildcats so it would be really nice if they're the ones in the pack.
