With N4, the Anathematic hacker has gotten a pretty sweet buff: They're - 12 points cheaper and gained access to AHD programs plus B4 Trinity (and +2 CC but who cares about that). They now poses a greater risk to both enemy heavy infantry, as well as the hackers that will often be walking around in the midline, and they're still useful as a specialist and shooter of dudes. How would you build a list around one?
I will toss out one idea. You might want to consider an Overdron. They are cheap and provide Albedo. So, you might be able to use them to eliminate some of the MSV that could be a threat to the Anathematic. Also, an e-drone is probably a good inclusion as well. So, you can toss up fairy dust if you need it.
I've not run it for awhile but it was my go to unit at one time. My lists used to include a couple of Shrouded, at least one but normally 2 Daturazi, an MSV unit of some persuasion, an Ikadron or two as back field guards and order batteries and then whatever else I wanted/could fit in/the mission demanded. You are relying on the Anathematic to do most of the heavy lifting but thats using Aspects for you.
I tried this the other night and had a decent amount of success against an Operations list with an asura+yadu haris. It's more just a list to try certain things *cough* plasma *cough* The soggy does the job of the big heavy attack piece in this situation where normally I'd have used an overdron.
Guys do you like the sogarat?? 60 points cd 13 no regeneration very expensive for me... he lost the full auto lvl2 profile..meh
2W, NWI and shock immune so effectively 3 wounds with ARM/BTS 6 makes a very durable platform. The Sogorat is and always has been a massive roadblock. He won't outshoot linked MSRs or camo TAGs but he'll sure hold up a lot of stuff and make your opponent think twice.
What about pairing a Rasyat with the Anathematic? Annabelle wants the enemy to move forward so she can fight them midfield, while the Rasyat is happy to punish them for staying in the back line. It sounds like they would do a very good job at complimenting one-another's roles.
Out of curiosity, do people think it is intentional to have the anathematic LT have an upgraded hacking device and the not LT have a regular one?
It's certainly odd, considering that they have the same point cost. I know some factions have Lts. that provide an SWC discount or even bonus, but I don't know about them providing point discounts.
I'm ok giving up the automedikit in exchange for NWI. Full auto L2 (-3 penalty to enemy) doesn't seem to exist anymore, and the +1 B still helps the Feuerbach win FtF rolls in the active turn.
I dropped a bug in the thread; at least on the web version, the non-lieutenant anathematic hacker doesn't actually have a hacking device at all!
yes but with only cd 13.. with a mimetism is good choice but with no negative modifies.. its just plain to me.. ill test it anyways
The Sogarat is now O-12 Gamma but with access to an AP HMG. I think I favor the AP HMG with the Sogarat while the Omega I prefer the Fuerbach because they only have normal HMGs.
Tempted to try this... although its equally tempting to consolodate everyone into a single group of tougher dudes.
Oh shit, I didn't notice the AP HMG doesn't have +1 B. Ok, so the Sogarat isn't quite like the Gamma after all.
Nah, the sogarat is good. It is a roadblock first and foremost. Yeah. It also hits harder (+1 DAM on both Ranged and CC weapons) and has an AP HMG compared to the regular HMG of the gamma. They are comparable, yeah. I would use one for sure. Losing the -3 BS from full auto does hurt the big guy, but being NCO helps him a whole lot, especially in MAF where you can pair him with a Suryat LT or an LT in a fireteam.
