so a roof is now classified as a scenery element (which is why being higher then the target now provides cover) as seen on the page about cover. Combay jump says you may not land in contact with a scenery element to get cover.

Does this mean you cannot jump onto roofs?

@HellLois confirmed in a previous thread that you can land on rooftops but do not get the cover bonus on the turn you land the combat jump.

Another combat jump question: on page 93 it specifies that AROs happen after resolving the combat jump roll. Controlled jump is an ARO that effects the combat jump roll. when do we declare controlled jump?

Was just chatting about this and came to find out if it had been clarified. Can you link to the original post where @HellLois confirmed please?

When your opponent declare a Combat Jump, you declare Controlled Jump (range: all of the table). From that moment, you have +3 and he has +3. As long as the Supportware is active.

    They get -3, but sure.

So by this, the Controlled Jump happens in Step 1.2. Presumably it occurs after they have described in full detail (as per page 21) where they intend to drop. But it importantly happens before other AROs in step 2 after they resolve the drop in Step 1.2, which means the EVO hacker loses its step 2 aro if it doesn't declare controlled jump, same as it would have lost it in N3.

This sound correct to everyone? Since this violates the normal order sequence, it might be good to get a note in there to that effect (on combat jump or controlled jump either one).
