I couldn't find anything against this particular scenario. 5 man link team, the link leader moves too far to shoot someone and at the end of the order finds out one of his friends is out of coherency. Does the leader maintain 5 man link bonus for the duration of the order? As far as I can tell coherency is only checked at the beginning and end of an order, and movement is just a short skill within an order. So it would go 0 check coherency 1 move skill 2 bs attack skill with 5 man link bonus 3 check coherency and drop the friend that is too far.
Im not so sure that is correct. From the PDF: FIRETEAM EXAMPLE. TEAM LEADER CHANGE #1: In the Active Turn, the player with the Fireteam of fve Zhanshi wants to perform an attack against the enemy. So, with their new Order he declares the Team Leader will be the Zhanshi carrying the HMG, and he places the Team Leader Token beside it. Then, after declaring the frst Short Skill of the Order, the player checks Coherency, verifying which other Fireteam members are in Coherency with the new Team Leader. As one of the Fireteam members is too far away, they are now out of the Fireteam, and the player can only activate four Troopers with the Order. So, the Team Leader can only apply the bonuses for a Fireteam of four members, instead of fve members
It's correct. In the example you're quoting, the other Fireteam member was already outside Coherency when the Order was spent, and therefore left the Fireteam during the first Coherency Check.
