Also Dynamo's [which were the only bikers I really liked] became impetuous, ruining the cool and unique thing about them. I'm right pissed at that. ^ so much this here
Yes they dont have MSV. They got a 9 point reduction in price and the spitefire damage increase which was what I was referring too.
Genuinely having a hard time being any kind of sympathetic, as they were originally said to be Impetuous. The Mavericks were supposed to be the unique ones...but even they're Impetuous.
In practical terms, the only effect of not being Impetuous was that they didn't get a free Order. :-(
USARF is in a weird spot with the 15 order limit. Its totally possible to knock out a viable list using the "heavy hitters" but the fact is they're not really enough of a bonus next to the cheaper stuff because the cheaper stuff is so bloody good, and everything else is 20-ish points and "okay" you can choose between the 20-ish point, biker, HI, MI, or camo skirmisher. It almost feels like there could be a random setting in army for USARF and you'd never really notice the difference...
I really liked that they didn't have any chance of running forward and dying, or wasting orders to avoid [before the changes to impetuous] But I really loved that they could use their bikes to get up the board, using their smoke and mines. Then dismount and fight without loss of cover. It was a really unique dragoon style that no other biker had. Now they are just another uninteresting forgettable bike unit that might as well not exist. pretty sure this, like the 3 point orcs, isn't gonna stay.
Yea. The biggest problem I can see is that Minutemen just don't have a place. Nothing about them is good for that price, other factions get equivalent or better gunfighters, that are more durable, and more mobile for the same price.
Minutemen are still a cheap AP HMG to add to a grunt fireteam which is imporant in the ERA OF TAG SPAM. Van Zant gained NCO and still has dep. zone. Captain American has GAINED SHOCK IMMUNITY and is still wildcard. The devildogs now have duo templates thanks to shotgun changes and a nice drop in price. Marauder sniper has +1 burst, thats a burst 4 MSV 1 sniper in a 3 man or more fireteam. All these more expensive units are now much more worth using in a 15 model meta.
I honestly think USARF has not been fully tested at all, at the very least with different kinds of army lists and against strong opponents like shas, CA, Aleph etc. I predicted 2 possible scenarios A) the army gets a tactical window fix looses the charm but stays competitive B) the fix is not enough to make them competitive and the army looses the charm, many troops no longer make sense in the army Until I can test them properly it seems like we are clearly in the scenario B but with unfixed minutemen and traktormul on top.
I thought people played Ariadina because they enjoyed not getting the high tech tools of other factions and still finding a way to win?
Yeah that asymetric gameplay kinda got taken out the back and shot with Tactical Window stopping them from doing that.
What @Triumph said. Plus, TAGs don't need to be high tech, they can be a slab of steel and Tessium on legs with an autocannon swinging between its knees like its compensating for the shrinkage caused by the cold on dawn...
TAGs wouldn't be necessary if Blackjacks had autocannons. Buncha cowards. That gun should be available in every Ariadnan Sectorial.
This, replace the T2 sniper Blackjack with an Autocannon. And make Minutemen worth taking. 1 profile is not a reason for a unit to exist.
