Well... idk tbh. If the ARO is Spotlight I would shoot or move with the second half if I can engage. I can totally reset with another short order when not under fire or in ZoC of a hacker. And if it is Oblivion... then it gets serious. Hacker to Hacker wars now seem mosltly stupid since only the KHD can engage and harm other hackers, which I really think is a very bad decision.
I suggest having a closer look at how Hacking works in CodeOne, notably the negative Reset MODs for Targeted and IMM-B States, which stack with each other.
True. We need to play and understand the dynamics of the new rules... if you look at the forum looks like any edge case is the end of the world. "Oh now everybody can ARO me Spotlight through a deep repeater Network!!!" "Yeah then move your one single KHD on the Network and kill the sucker FIRST."
I am familiar with C1 rules Ian, thanks, my point was more about the KHD being the only device that can cause a wounds to another hacker. Sorry if I was unclear. THAT I don´t like as a concept. You seem to imply an IMM and Targeted HI or REM. It is still better than the old IMM-2, so I am willing to take it :) Unless you are replying to the other part of my post where I say that I would rather engage on a shootout than declare Reset vs a hacking ARO, or perhaps move. Second Edit: If Tinbots NOW provide a Firewall, it is going to be a passive -3 to attacking Hacking Programs or will it be only if you FtF with Reset or Hacking?
Remember the Wildcats have the only linkable NCO and KHD and No.2 that we know of. Decide for yourself what those are worth but they are at least not something you can ignore.
So according to the official information we have right now this fireteam would be possible: Vostok (MK12, Mimetism -6), 38 pts Wildcat (Spitfire, NCO), 31 pts, 1.5 swc Wildcat (Combi, Engineer), 28 pts Evader (Multirifle, Firewall), 25 pts Daktari, 14 pts for 136 pts and 1.5 swc That looks REALLY saucy and very self-sufficient. Swapping the Wildcat engineer for an Evader engineer profile is an option but then you have to take another Evader for the firewall. Maybe you want a hacker in there or swap the Evader for a Feuerbach version. Lupe is also an option but I'm not sure what I would take out and since we have ultra-cheap Jaguar Haris without the need for Massacre now there should be enough order-efficient smoke available. That still leaves more than enough points for a Jaguar haris, an Intruder, a Gecko an Evader/Wildcat Duo, a Tomcat and some other stuff. So many options...
I wonder what different fireteam combos everyone will come up with. Personally I want to try this: Vostok ODD MK12 Evader AP Spitfire engineer Wildcat KHD Señor massacre bsg Daktari assuming points on massacre don’t change much that should be roughly 1.5 swc and 139 points. My main worry is all the wildcards feels like a trap. I like having multiple offense vectors so I may make it an Alguacil or jaguar core to lower the point cost. At least we have so many options.
My current go-to full core in mind is: Jaguar CR Jaguar CR Jaguar CR Jaguar CR/Panzerfaust Tsyklon Feuerbach Althou a cost increase on Jags might make it: Alguacil Lt. Alguacil Alguacil FO Alguacil FO Tsyklon Feuerbach Of course I'm currently expecting to use a small Core and a Haris instead of trying to link 5 guys.
I would not asume that the vostok odd is the FTO. I have the feeling that it would be one of the albedo ones. The wildcats, more than the core, I think will be more interesting in the haris, because of the non tax, the little extra mobility, and putting the MSV where you need, with Lupe for both missions and smoke (if she retains it) Enviado desde mi M2004J19C mediante Tapatalk
Albedo Vostok with a Tysklon and Wildcat Engineer in a Haris will murderise MSV AROs if you're willing to take 2 x DA on the Tysklon's chin. Which is probably ok assuming UNC 2 stays.... (do we know if UNC 2 stays? I assume it will as it's a core part of the Remote Presence rule which exists on N4 REMs). Very expensive though... something you could easily build into a list as just one option for list building (I can easily see myself taking a list that can be configured into multiple different starting links depending on table or opponent). // Re: Hacking. If anything I'm seriously hoping Gromez gets "Assisted Fire" as an Upgrade. It'll give her a clear role in CJC and DBS. Because otherwise EVOs will rapidly become a 'tax'. Which given that they're limited to Reseting vs Trinity... is double-plus-ungood. I'm not too concerned about HDs vs KHDs as if you can get Oblivion off on them, you can follow up with Spotlight and Carbonite to take them out of the Hacking fight PROVIDED that Trinity is DAM13-14 and doesn't ignore Firewalls (ie. I want BTS12 Interventors vs KHDs exploiting my Repeaters) as the inability to do effects that can't be Reset out of combined with losing Firewall benefits would... well... suck. I do want to see a B1 DAM program on some of our Hackers though (Custodiers in particular - as this would provide a point of difference) - equally, I'd expect to see it on some CA hackers and on Dansavas. Hell, I now have a Profile I want to see: Custodiers to see if they have something like Suckerpunch (say B1 DAM13 DA ) and Surprise Shot (-3). Something to make them the killiest of HD+s to fit their roll as a combat hacker.
I like the idea of KHDs being the only thing that can cause wounds. It clearly separates the different roles, and encourages synergistic hacking: regular hacker can Spotlight, the killer hacker can then Trinity with a stacking penalty to the target. Edit: I believe we won't see custom programs as this immediately starts working against the goal of simplification. Rather, we may see characters get bonuses to hacking or indvidual hacking programs. +3 WIP for Overlord might be something Gromoz does in line with her N3 anti-TAG skill. Asuras, already hinted to have an upgrade by Bostria, maybe get Trinity? That sounds appropriate. EVO stuff I think will largely stay for those people who've bought the EVO remotes, I think. This gives some kind of HQ "resource" for opponents to try take down that isn't your Lieutenant. Fairy Dust, say, is way more powerful now since it protects from all Comms Attacks, so it would be a very singular character that could take it.
Did anyone see the apparently leaked Nomads TAG profiles? I saw them on Facebook this morning but now can't find them. Do we think they're real?
