And to be fair, any good TO will pre-announce that there will be a selection tables with corridors or terrain zones or literally-anything-that-isnt-a-fricking-city-block as well, so people know to tailor their lists to a variety of terrain types, as well.
In light of the fact that "Tactical Awareness" (and Irregular Orders) doesn't appear to be a thing in C1, is there any speculation about whether or not the C1 versions of TAGs will have additional orders somehow?
Don't think they need any. 30pt games of C1 are very generous with what you can bring, so all things considered you're getting the full 10 orders anyway with a possible LT order on top.
Don't look to you, people, that C1 is a kind of Infinity N2, pre human sphere, in a way ...? I didn't taste it yet, but I have some friends, all of them N3 veterans, and for what they said it is the picture I formed in my mind. With only one Combat group and without C.Tokens the first turn it is usually a little decisive. More than we are issued in N3. Someone who has played C1 could share something about this. About what its comming... The wait it is too long, a week!! A whole week!! And the friday 25 I will be traveling and without Internet access probably! Noooooo!! I will can not read the news until the 26 or maybe the 27!!! XD
Sure they ("evil CB.") put something in the metal the figures where made of. "SURE" hehehehe. The latest Videos were a really good quality time with some friends on discord, all of us watching the videos and later making comments about what were showed. ""This is not, of course, what I will missed"" hehehe.
Why don't they get rid of the fireteams charts and just let you form them any way you want? It's what they are already doing anyway
Well, I downloaded an offline copy of current Army. From what we've seen it looks like balance and flavour has gone to the dogs, and I'm genuinely not sure if I will enjoy N4, so I'm keeping those N3 profiles and rules around so I have something to play with friends no matter how this turns out.
If you watch the video, Taryots are Remotes piloted from off-table by injured Morats. Vanguard are by far the most common Morats found on the battlefield, so most Taryots will be piloted by Vanguard.
Thanks for the reply, I watched it before posting my question. Backstory is awesome, I really dig it, though logo looks kinda "cheap" to me I guess...
There is something very weird going on with Nagas point costs; Combi/Mines loadout for 30, BSG/Mines for 27. Ok, maybe BSG got cheaper now that it doesn't sport an Impact Template; Suddenly, MSR for 1 point less than Combi/Mines. Even with its nerf I kinda doubt it :P KHD for free, HD for 2 pts, FO for two points less than the loadout without it... It seems that basic Combi/Mines cost is wrong, at the very least.
So looking at the changes: Simplified Hacking: They now have a reason for each type of hacking device to exist. Hacking looks like it might me more common but less lethal (Need to take a killer hacker to actually kill with a device.) EVO is basically full support and is necessary for buffing attack bots or giving firewalls. Ignoring the hacking game looks it could have consequences. Also would not be surprised if some units/profiles have added programs or Hacking Attack (+X). Cheap heavy Infantry: Oh wow. A hacking net seems super important now. Also one will probably have to make sure that one brings the firepower to chew through multiple wound models with good armor. Vanilla list design is going to get very interesting.
Some more thoughts: I think I like changes to hacking. Old HD got actually eliminated, the new one took AHD's role as a speed bump; it remains to be seen how effective it'll be, we need to see actual program chart to see that. All devices and all programs have their clear roles, with less competition and confusion. I wonder about balance between Assisted Fire and Enchanced Reaction; in N3 the latter was hardly used, at least in my meta. Overall, nice. Asura getting cheaper - and faster - was pretty much the only thing needed, with N4 crit rules she'll be a beast to deal with. Looking at costs HD+ Lt also should have +1 order, it costs 4 pts now. I like the way number of loadouts was pruned down to those really useful, with Duo/Haris being a unit-wide skills. Nourkias is another CC beast, I wonder if N4 will allow such units to shine more. There's something weird going on with his costs too, with Lt loadouts costing 2 pts less. Taryots make for an interesting addon to MAF. I'm curious about rumoured changes to Rasyats and how these two will complement each other. MAF and CJC lineup changes - they look nice as well, pretty clean and easy to remember. Many people will be surprised that it's Evas, not Wildcats, who became wildcards.
