I can generally buy NWI/SI becoming more standard if it's gamewide power creep (as much as I find it unlfluffy and devaluing the inhuman resilience of Aspects and heroes like Kusanagi or the Veteran Kazaks), the bit I don't understand is the EVAder being NWI/SI. It's full Heavy Infantry in an edition where traits standard to that unit type aren't punished and spamming for more orders isn't even possible. I just don't see why it shouldn't be 2W, since there's no inherent need to cheat the formula anymore.

    we see different roles then

One is a midfield specialist. The other is an advanced shoter with specialist options. One is HI in the HI faction, the other is MI in a mainly MI faciton. When I enphatize the zencha being the cheap one is because he is cheaper. He has cheaper weapons, ok, I agree with that, but he has also an skill more expensive than AD, which is the main reason their roles are different too. Also, about hacking, thanks to camo, zencha will ignore almost all hackers (Except SS2 hackers, which are not so much of them, only in core fireteams and I think there is 2 other profiles out there, and the hacker in a core is seen by a lot of people as a weak point), so unless you do it wrong (or you opponent do it better than you), zencha will more as freely against hacking as sombras. Yes, sombras get better ranges. I will not negate it, is its main advantage, didn't I mention that he is more like a prowler? Maibe I should say that they are overgrown hecklers, but their roles are mainly different again.

I suppose is because the competition with mobile brigada. If they were 2W, they will be too similar. Making MB more expensive would be a problem with Geckos, and so on..

This would be cool if they, like with Ikari, forced you to set combinations of fireteams but we are seeing its becoming more and more "just build your fireteam whichever way you want" which at the end means cheap fillers + big gun and maybe a specialist

@Armihaul I agree about the Sombra being a MI in a MI faction and Zencha being a HI in a HI faction, it's only being a HI means nothing beyond having more weaknesses; MI shouldn't get 2 wounds, if they hadn't this discussion wouldn't be happening.

I'd say think of NWI+Si as just another thing in the giant game of Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock... If CB doesnt give ample about of DA and its equivalents, then people can get upset. If CB doesnt make paramedic a little better for unconscious troops who have been hit twice, definitely get upset. A nice wide spectrum ranging from 1-4 sounds in this game is good. A whole force is not going to 1.9 wounds, this mitigates the strength of SMGs if they stay the same. Which is good. Peoples lists are commonly going to have 1, 1.9, 2 and 2.5 wound troops now all requiring different methods to take them down.

I can agree with the thought, but it feels like they've changed the whole game around to make Warbands less dominant in context, instead of just making Warbands less dominant, and the knock-on effects are messing up the identity of every other class of trooper.

You are complaining too late about that, and in the wrong place in my opinion. We got years of NWI warbands and the like with MI profiles (without their movement and SWC drawbacks) and LI costs paying almost nothing for NWI, but instead, nomad MI got more complains over and over again. Now it is happening again. 2 units are getting that rule, 2 units... in a faction with only 3 characters with that rule. One of those units you can see that even us agree that look a bit too cheap, but the other don't look as OP as you say. I could understand the complains, if nomad were a top faction in n3 that got almost all their miniatures revised in n3...but no, we were relativelly neglected (not as much as tohaa, of course), but YJ has no right to complain in my opinion (they got more or less the same results, but got almost everything revised.

Functionally that doesn't fix the issue with Brigada though. If they're too expensive and being outclassed by cheaper HI in their own sectorial who do the same job then we're just replicating the N3 Shang Ji and Zuyong problem.

what I mean is that, if you give 2W to the evaders, you get MB 2.0. The same issue than grenzers/wildcats. That's why I think they didn't give 2W to evaders.

Also, 1W NWI HI is a new kind of unit that CB can use to bring a lot of new units to everyone. I think it is a good thing.

Lol at YJ got almost everything revised, I suppose revised means removed. The grass is greener, I suppose, but I'll leave it here.

YJ got all their miniatures checked between n2-n3. Nomads have still miniatures from the beggining of n1. Not sure if zero combi is older than tankhunter autocannon, but those 2 are the oldest miniatures in the catalog

on profiles, securitates were untouched in n1 and n2, and observancy had not their costs revised in n3

IF C1 is anything to go by:
    Zuyong BSG/Combi 22/23
    Orc BSG/Combi 25/26
Meaning basic Brigada is somewhere around the same as basic Evaders.
So you'll run them with SWC gun in Algs and maybe another very efficient Link and that's about it.

Sombras aren't even unusual or overly optimized compared to N3 Dart, lol.

Being a 50/50 CJC and IA player, it is always cringeworthy to listen to all this salt, and I do believe to be out of place. I am excited to see N4 for IA, and had incredible fun with Zenchas (making one mandatory in my lists and typically trying to make room for two). Despite the *huge* drawbacks (poor Zencha, he never got the memo I guess, he just kept going and making hero plays).

I also had quite a but of success with IA in my meta, but who cares, somebody will come and say that because I didn´t play at the big events then I must be a terrible player...

Bottom line, I am tired of that negativity. I am tired as well of all the goalposting to justify your faction is weak/being abused/whatever. Go play another faction for a while, go play other games if you fancy, or vote with your dollars/euros and stop buying CB product.

And let´s go back to talking about uses for this units, which are great. I know I will be over at the YJ forum *trying* to be positive under the tide of salt when we finally see the adjustments to our profiles.

They would bring big fish in a small pond rhetoric (which is funny since I never saw their name on big events too), but oh well this is internet, so whatever.

BTW is that AVA 1 on Sombras are for the Nomads generic? If not, we might presume it would be like 'Gwailo' type unit; exclusive to CJC. That would be pretty cool fluff.

Usually, the AVA shown are for Generic Armies.

IA also won LVO in February for what it's worth. I believe the main criticism about IA is not their overall strength but their rigidity in list building due to a lack of internal balance.

Our best local player (and probably one of the best south-american players as far as I can tell), tried IA for the last 2019 ITS (after I got 4th place in the Brazil Open National ITS a month before). He was inexperienced with the Army but is an overall great great player, and told me something that stayed with me afterwards: "IA is like driving a plowing truck - on reverse gear". If you can get THAT edge you will crumble the oposition. If you cannot, you struggle.

CJC has multiple vectors, these units give us multiple vectors, and that is great. I don´t like what happened to Wildcats (but mostly because of sentimental attachment) but we need to play and see. And the same goes for IA for example.

The Zhencha is definitely still good, even Triumph's admitted it. It's a fantastic, fairly safe Specialist that can fall back on being a hard-to-stop DZ assassin. The trouble is that it's a Hackable HI without Shock Immunity and other classes with the same kit have it, which is frankly stupid. I don't overly mind the Sombra etc. as long as the Zhencha is fairly compensated for its weaknesses. N4 looks good on that front, since we can already see a Hackable discount.

On the topic of the Zhencha, here's a trick I found on the Zhencha AHD that carries over to the Sombra HD: sneak up on one of the increasingly-popular linked REMs (or HI), Surprise IMM it, then put shotgun templates through the stuck robot onto its linkmates. Climbing+ is great for this because people assume they will get shots on anything Climbing up the side of a building, as Hackers don't usually leave the midfield.

Thematically I'm actually completely on board with more factions using the Pseudo Shock Immune HI and YJ using more true HI.

My real problem with it is CB's primary use of the combination is actually just to cheat their points system and cram more gear to over optimise certain profiles or offset bloat on dump stats and garbage gear. Functionally, unless a faction has access to good or linking doctor coverage, their ability to efficiently revive an unconscious 2W model basically just isn't there anyway which very much lessens any real benefit of going unconscious. If CB still feel the need to keep cheating the system then the system still needs adjusting and clearly just isn't right yet.

Maybe that will change if more doctors that can offer a full heal to 2W models like Parvati materialise but for now it's pretty safe to say that simply cheating the points cost to cram more gear and guns onto models is better and easier to get value out of which just creates more internal balance issues.

I was pleased when I heard the news and then someone told me he was using illegal fireteams and that kinda soiled the situation.

Oh, you meant miniatures. Yes, Yu Jing undoubtedly got the best miniature rehaul ever, they are probably the most beautiful faction. Altho Tunguska is great too and the designs for EVAders and Sombras look like they'll be cool.
