This might be something that may only trip up N3 veterans; am I reading it correctly that a trooper in base contact with an unconscious enemy is NOT Engaged and can thus draw LOF outside of base contact? And of course, equally the downed/immobilized/etc enemy would NOT be considered Engaged and would thus not be affected by templates touching their foe?
The activation for Engaged requires that neither trooper be in a Null state such as Unconscious, and one of the cancellation bullets is: “A Trooper’s Engaged State is automatically cancelled if, in the 5.1 Effects step of any Order, all enemies in Silhouette contact are in Null or Immobilized States.” So that appears correct. If you walk up to a Null enemy and enter silhouette contact, you’re not Engaged. If you drop an enemy in one-on-one CC, you cease being Engaged by them. If an ally drops them with a BS Attack, likewise. But...there doesn’t seem to be anything that cancels Engaged for the Unconscious model until the conscious enemy leaves silhouette contact or goes Null. I think this has pretty minimal effects, but it implies you can’t use Regeneration on the Engaged, Unconscious model...I think?
But back to the original question: it seems correct that there will no longer be any using uncoscious enemies as human shields, right?
